I enjoy running when I get the chance. It is such a time commitment though. Work eats up a lot of my free time...lol. Kids and family stuff is much more of a proprity to me after work. I was running 60+miles a month for a while...but the other half started getting irritated. I start running, and always want to better my time. Very competitive against myself. I think about how much faster I was in high school...I'm not fat, but a fairly heavy runner. I'm tipping the scales at about 205 now...175-180 is skinny for me. Longest mileage I have put in is 10 miles. I usually run 3-6 miles. I started using the Nike+ app a bit over a year ago, and have had a lot of fun with that. It amazes me how much some people do run!!

I used to run 4-5 miles every day (excluding weekends). Got into an accident March 17th, haven't been able to do any physical activity or barely any lifting since then. Put on about 15 pounds and have just started doing some jogging.
Can't wait to be able to run again!

I was running last fall, but stopped when it got a little too brisk for my tastes around January. Until you work up your mileage, you should check out the Torrence Creek Greenway. It's a pretty nice little greenway and avoids dealing with the idiots driving around town.

I'm running the Everbank 5k (home of the Jags) in August. I'm pretty excited to get back into Fall 5k season.

Used to run 50-60 miles a week but my feet decided to revolt and will not put up with it.

Still miss it. While I understand that I was not even close to fast when looking at the big picture, locally I held my own pretty well.

Ultimately, I am not sure I would even be able to find time to run that much anymore, I spend so much time at my kids sports and even when there is no practice or game, my son usually has me out in the yard throwing (or down at the field so he can throw off the mound, or at the cage so I can destroy my shoulder more throwing bp, etc).

I run just enough to stay in decent shape. I can jog about 20 minutes and unless you're an athlete of any kind that's all you really need.

I grew up running. Ran Cross Country in HS.

Now? I only run to the bathroom if I'm 'bout to poop myself.

I completely agree on the time commitment aspect of it. I feel bad coming home from work and then going out for an hour or more. Thankfully my girlfriend is understanding but I don't want to push it so I've been getting up super early and going before work, it sucks losing the sleep but it does make me feel good to start the day.

I also think about how I was in HS and get pissed off, I have to tell myself over and over that I'm out of shape and gained a ton of weight

Woah, nice to see a fellow Huntersviller! Thanks for the tip, I never knew there was a greenway there, we moved here two years ago. I run on the McDowell Creek greenway by Birkdale a lot but I will definitely check out the Torrence Creek one, thanks for the tip!

Is this a thread about who likes running on a card forum? I think I am going to ask a bunch of vegans which cut of beef is their favorite. I can remember running twice, both times guys dressed up like JMS were behind me. One time a four legged friend was involved, also. The four legged friend and I never hit it off. He was much faster and enjoyed the smell of my pockets way to much. How do you even teach a dog to be obsessed with pockets? Pretty weird if you ask me.

I'm too fat to run. I think it would be a health hazard to run. Probably die from a heart attack.

I thought we invented automobiles so we don't have to run.

I ran a tick under 1:19 for the Brooklyn Half Marathon a few years back. I'm trying to get back into that kinda shape again :|

I have a Garmin 910XT watch, which I can also use to track swim workouts.

It's not very cozy. It reeks of elderberries, moldy cheese, and cat urine.

Was thinking about doing a forum on this! I am. I run about 30-35 miles a week and a 5k every saturday. 5k time is about 22-23 minutes on average. I've done just one half marathoon but have signed up for another this fall. My goal or bucket list is to do a race in every Kentucky county which has 120. Right now I have 51. My father and I go to about every race together. He's 54 and a very fast runner running in the early 20's. It takes up a ton of time but well worth it. I hae made some wonderful friends along the way.

Running to me is expensive. Race fees anymore are about 20-25 bucks. I go through a pair of running shoes about every 2-3 months that cost nearly $100. Oh well it's a good healthy hobby.

Just did a 5K last Sun. 26:30 it's all up hill the last 1/2 mile. The time is 48 seconds slower than 20 years ago. This race was the first one I ran in. I always ran just not in timed races.
I'm in my fifties so losing less than a minute 20 years later,I'll take that.
Fastest time this year was 25:35,that race was on Coney Island's boardwalk.
I love running will be heading out for a run in a little while.
