Default Sabathia for the Hall?

CC has had something of a resurgence this year, going from a power pitcher to a crafty lefty.

234 wins, 61 bWAR, 6 time AS, 1 CY, 5 times top 5 Cy voting. I think he'll get to 250 in wins, around 65 WAR.

To me, he is in.

Playing for the Yankees helps his cause. I think 220-250 wins will become the new 300. He's got a CY as well. I remember him carry Milwaukee to the playoffs. I think he makes it, won't be first ballot, but given the numbers for his generation, he will get in.

I think there was a good thread on this a year or so ago I'll try to dig up. But, I think he has a very good shot at making it.

No, too fat, and too much of a whiney baby complaining that someone dared to bunt when he was pitching.

I think if he gets closer to 3,000 Ks, then he has a very good shot.

As of right now, he's borderline but wouldn't be a mistake if he got voted in.

I'm a Yankee fan.

IMO CC Sabathia is not even close to a Hall of Famer. Not even close. Hall of Famers should be next level, and next level he is not.

Unless we are measuring damage done to a buffet

Being fat doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but he's not really wrong on CC whining about the Red Sox bunting in the first inning.

Would we see CC's Topps Traded Auto RC take another boost like it did when he won the Cy Young?

Meh, looks more like a self-describing post to me.

I mean, his episode of MTV Cribs was pretty good (with him in the Caddy golf cart)...does that help his HOF case?

Calling someone who is whining 'whiney' is hardly uncalled for.

Absolutely regarding Mussina. How he isn't in yet is disturbing. Just a tad under 300 wins & 3,000 K's for his career. 83 WAR. At least he's up in the voting over the past four years of eligibility. I imagine it's only a matter of time. Personally, I think David Cone should also get in, speaking of Yankee pitchers.

This is a pretty strong lot for the price. You get all 4 of the big names in one auction. (not mine).

3.68 ERA. Herb Pennock with a 3.60 ERA is the highest in the HOF elected by the BBWAA. Mussina may be waiting a long time. Sabathia 3.70 and Morris 3.90 are even worse. If Morris gets in by the Veterans Committee, Sabathia may get in eventually. As long as Morris is waiting, I don't see CC getting in.

Yeah, but Mussina's prime was during the bulk of the steroid era. Pedro Martinez aside, his numbers from that time frame were really good.

Career ERA+
Pennock 106
Morris 105
Sabathia 117
Mussina 123

Exactly what I was thinking. The amount of writers that were playing during his era has to have impacted his ERA.
