Default Anyone ever try to edit a Wikipedia article?

That place is worse than Blowout.

P.S. I write beautifully.

I did to tighten up some wording once. Never went back to page, I assume my beauty and clarity of language blew them away and they still discuss the change to this day.

When my wife was working on her Masters paper, I went to the Wikipedia page for the author she was writing about and edited it to include (falsely) that after he died he donated his estate to found a penguin sanctuary in Christchurch, NZ. I think it stayed up that way for quite some time.

I was heavily involved in the creation and editing of a couple articles around 2008-2009.

I go back every once in a while to check up. Wiki is like the worst pseudo-intellectual elitists of BO all trying to one up each other.

I'm pretty sure the people editing those articles all day are fused to a chair.

The background here is that I edited the "In popular culture" section for Truth or Consequences, NM to include that WWE wrestler Cactus Jack (one of Mick Foley's personalities) was billed as being from that town. Two different editors reversed my change - first because it was unsourced and second because it's basically too trivial of information. They said it belongs on Fandom... Yet the references to Rainbow Six video games and a Doctor Who episode (which has an entire Wiki article devoted to it!) remain on there. I didn't feel like expending the mental energy to keep arguing.

... so I came to complain on Blowout, which is obviously much more productive.
