Default When does a card on Goldin actually sell

They have a Futera Lewis Hamilton rookie in their current auction that "sold" in their March auction for $312,000. I know they will secretly bid cards up to one bid under the reserve amount so I'm curious if it met the reserve price or not.

When Goldin auctions don't meet the reserve amount, does it say didn't meet reserve? The previous auction jumped $180 K in one minute which seems unlikely in after hours bidding.

The current listing:

Yeah, seems that information should be transparent…

but there’s much more money to be made if it isn’t.

Yes, the card sold for $312k in March.

When items don’t meet the reserve, the item says “Pass”.

In almost every state it's legal for auctioneers to bid on items in their own auction and I believe last I checked it's spelled out explicitly in their own terms and conditions.

312k sale was legit. Dude is on this forum who bought it.

No chance it gets anywhere near that now IMO. Weird that he’s bailing on it already though.

Cards that have reserves can get bid to that reserve at the end in order to show what it is. That way, the next bid takes it. Misleading, as it looks like there’s been real bidding up to that number.

4.Minimum Bids and Reserves: Every lot within the auction does have a minimum bid designated in both the catalog as well as online. A small number of lots may have a reserve price. A reserve price is a minimum bid below which the lot will not be sold. Accordingly, if the reserve price is not met at the conclusion of the auction, the lot will not be sold. Reserve bid prices are not publicly available and will not be published, except that two days prior to the auction close, any item with an unmet reserve will be annotated with “Reserve Not Met” in the online bidding. Reserve bids are available to the House and the House may, at its discretion, confidentially place reserve bids and set "up to" bids where the next bid in succession would hit the reserve price. No reserve price bids placed by the House will be executed at a level greater than one bid below the actual reserve. Any lot that had an unmet reserve at the conclusion of the auction will show as a "pass" in the online catalog.

Does it still say there's a reserve price? I mean, that's basically no different than just starting the auction at the reserve price. Not really any different IMO than somebody starting an eBay auction at $100 instead of $0.99.

It doesn't say there is a reserve price until the end and it can be misleading because if a card has a reserve price of say $10,000 and the current price is $9500, buyers might think that is the next highest bid when in reality it could $1000 or less. Even though this isn't what I asked, it stinks IMHO.
