Chyna - 2012 Leaf Originals Wrestling

This card was supposed to be in the 2012 Leaf Originals Wrestling set but they didn’t get signed for some reason or another.

When Chyna passed in 2016 Leaf put stickers on 30 cards that were originally never released, hand numbered them and sold them on eBay. 20 of the cards were the original art and 10 of the cards were the alternate art version.

I had no clue what I was buying at the time. I always liked the Leaf Originals Wresting set and just hadn’t seen this card before. Just thought I would share something interesting.

I remember the controversy when Leaf did these on eBay. She had just died, and it was an incredibly distasteful to cash in like that right away. IMO at least.

I do appreciate cards like this being brought to market eventually. It gives fans something to chase. But at least wait for the body to go cold.

I picture Brian Gray checking the obituaries each day, and then running to see what he has in stock.

she passed away on April 17, 2016, Leaf listed the unreleased cards I believe on Ebay on April 22nd

I had purchased one of the 20. Sold it and then ended up with a red /10 from when they were added into the 2017 release. Sold that one too. she had quite the following. I got a lot of offers on those cards based on my email history. some laughable and I'm sure those buyers are long blocked (IE a $2 offer on one)

if you watch 3rd rock from the sun, she has a few episode cameo where her and harry are a thing. it's pretty funny

Gotcha. I had almost all the leaf cards and didn't recognize that art at all. Now I know why!

I used to watch that show all the time!

I had a TNA Signature Impact version wish I just sold this week. Her cards do seem to always have interest. This one is weird as only 20 of the regular art and 10 of the alternate art were ever released. This art is different then the 2017 also.

I have the /10 version and the /20? or is it /25? version; will check when I get back to my other home where they are stored. They were bought from Leaf after she passed away.
