Interesting. Thanks for posting. I was not sure of exactly how many and who.

I know not the focus of the article but I do wonder how much the market naturally figures this out and influences the non auto prices to be higher because of less supply.

I'm buying some Brady House mainly just because im a NATs fan but he is more expensive I'm assuming for lack of 1st Autos. Not only because he's a tier 1 guy.

I kind of like it for players that have bad autos because I get burnout collecting autos and non auto 1st bowmans of the same player with little added appeal.

The focus is kinda "who can headline Bowman" -- it's a market predictor. Not necessarily in dollar value, but in hobby interest.

___

There's a few things I didn't address:

Guys who only have paper autos like Jose Miranda & Alberto Rodriguez aren't included because Topps has never circled back to doing a Chrome auto of those guys.

I didn't have to address whether a guy who's only in an ancillary Bowman product (Inception, Sterling) would be included. Hudson Head was closest.

My guess they'll have Leiter/House/Watson in bowman and Arias will be in bowman chrome.

About what percentage of these are guys who were 2021 Draftees/Most recent J2?

Not that they don’t qualify under the term, just wondering.

The lack of Valera autos is different to me than the lack of Leiter autos, in some fashion.

Is Colson Montgomery not expected to have an auto in the next Bowman release? If so, huge bummer. He's a local kid.

His HS team plays their home games at League Stadium - one of the fields used in "A League of Their Own". One of the other's being Bosse Field, which our team calls home!

Leaf pays their guys a lot to sign. Topps & Panini not so much, and Leiter didn't have Panini autos either (outside USA, which is part of being on Team USA). That's why I'm a little skeptical -- but we'll see!

I only have (5) 2022 J15's. I didn't want to just flood the list with those, but we know the hobby will treat most of them better than that.

The 2021 Draft guys are (14) in number. All but Gelof would have been there with 0 performance.

I suspect he is. He's on the sell sheet with base cards at least.

On a selfish Pirate fan level, I'm hoping for Hudson Head, Maikol Escotto, and Rodolfo Castro in addition to Frazier to get autos. Castro seems likely to have a TC RC auto before getting a chrome prospect card and/or auto, which kind of sucks.

I don't want to derail this thread too much, but it's awesome to see another southern Indiana guy around here! I loved playing at both of these fields when I was back in high school.

Head does have Inception autos.

Primordial Inception autos for Head.

I will not make it into a joke. I won't even mention his 2019 BDC number...

Really well done article. Seeing that Valera padparadscha makes me a little giddy, even knowing that I'll never see one in the wild.

This list is obviously wrong. Vinnie Pasquantino is way too low.

I'm a believer in what he did. But he's 24 & squarely behind Pratto in the org. Thanks 2020 MiLB season...

How far away was Ty Madden from making the P list?

I threw that Tier P list together at the last minute. Those are all performance based.

Madden would definitely be somewhere in there, probably just above the older guys. I like him significantly better than Wicks.

Meh. One can DH. Plus can’t keep down future HOFers.

Super exciting player -- he's in my next 10 -- it's the .356 slg that keeps him down for me.

I see he only pitched 1 inning last year. Is two-way not a thing for him anymore?

I'm glad Harris gets some love but I hope people keep sleeping when his auto does come out.

He still wants to (he tweeted something to that effect right after his outing). But he's been pushed quickly because his speed & infield arm are playing so well. Getting reps at SS is clearly more important right now -- he's a bit raw defensively (24 E).

Guys I think I whiffed on not including Yerlin Confidan ... I would've had him in the 30's. Huge SwStr% issue (35%!), but can't argue with the results.
