PayPal is still growing strong without eBay. It might be a good time to buy some shares after the drop. FYI I hate PayPal as a company but they are still the top provider in a growing industry of online sales

Since eBay started using Apple Pay in the app I’ve been using that for all of my eBay. Seems much easier and faster and I get daily cash rewards on Apple Pay.

Wait until America realizes they're going to be getting 1099's for everything thru PayPal.

Like a burning ring of fire.

Paypal will be fine. We really haven't seen the full integration of Venmo to Amazon yet or the numbers resulting.

That's not really PayPal's fault though...

Actually back about 20 years ago paypal and ebay were huge enemies.
Ebay had there own payment system called "billpoint" and would go head to
head with paypal until they finally gave up and just bought them out.
Until they separated again.
Ebay has made many mistakes like dropping Paypal , sellers assistant , Skype and continually alienating sellers.

I don't think they necessarily "pissed them off", rather eBay realized they could keep the extra ~3% fees for themselves rather than letting PayPal get them.

PayPal didn't 'miss out' on MLB going cashless. They launched their new MLB Ballpark App which utilizes card on file or QRC payments which are processed through their existing processor or 3rd party vendor (i.e. Ticketmaster for tickets). PayPal doesn't need eBay. Their growth and stock increase far outpaced eBay since the split - even with this realignment.

The big loser is the USPS. I used to buy BASEBALL cards with USPS money orders that I sent through the mail. They were DOUBLE CHARGING! No wonder they lost market share. They should have given out a free stamp with purchase of a money order. Could have kept them relevant.

This. If Paypal and eBay had a falling-out they.....wouldn't still allow them as a payment method.

It's only because the current contract runs to mid-2023.

The point still stands. The reason that eBay is severing from Paypal is purely financial.

No, it is not. But it will be detrimental to their business model as Americans catch on to what is happening.
