NFL players complain about one thing... but celebrate that thing they complain about.

I'm talking about the added games to the season.

NFL Owners wanted to add a 17th game to the season but all I heard about was the health and safety of the players. You can't add a 17th game... its not safe. We put our bodies on the line for 16 games... etc etc etc

BUT....

All the previous seasons players CELEBRATED being able to play that 17th game. They actually strive for it and are happy when it does happen.

Now it's the 18th game and yet I see so many players celebrating that they get to play it.

Which is it?

It's all arbitrary. If everybody was already accustomed to 24 ganes, then 25 would be a "problem".

You have to see, that you are talking about 2 completely different things, right?

In years past, playing week 18 means you are in the playoffs, and gunning for a Super Bowl.

Now, week 18 is yet another regular season game.

Trust me, the Bears, Jets, Giants and all the other teams that had no playoff hopes, were not happy to be playing even deeper into winter.

What you are talking about, are players celebrating being in the Playoffs. Which happens every year, not just in 17 game seasons.
