Default Spider-Man: No Way Home

Above and beyond what I expected. Up there for MCU's best movie yet for me. I won't post any spoilers this weekend, but definitely stay off social media!

I've watched most of the MCU movies, except for the recent spider man ones.

How important is back-story in order to appreciate No Way Home?

The last spiderman would be helpful, but they essentially sum it up to start this new one. There are several movies/shows that in some way tie into this, but you don't have to know them to follow.

I knew I'd like this movie, I had high expectations, and it not only met them, but blew them away. I loved, loved, loved, this movie.

Bought tickets for my second viewing tomorrow.

Because I’m a very good lawyer.

I mean it sets up everything.

Take 4 hours and knock them out. Worth it

Possible spoiler warning…so beware.

In the end when Parker went to the coffee shop and MJ and Ned were there and Parker had the whole thing he was going to say and he didn’t say it while I was watching I took it more as he didn’t feel it was the right time and he would just slowly get to know them and tell them later but I read online that people think it was him making choice to not be in there life’s and leave them alone cause of the trouble being his friend could cause

Which way did you guys take it? The way I took it would mean a possible bright future for our Parker the second way is sad.

Thoughts?

I took it as the second, it’s not a very happy end.

Doing some more reading it sounds like you right and that Spider-Man may be going to be more party of Sony.

Holland only has one more mcu movie in his contract

He’s MCU all the way. Disney and Sony both benefit greatly by him being in the MCU. It’s a case of 1 + 1 = 3. This movie set up a potential MCU Venom so Sony can keep up their movies based on Spider-Man villains and Disney can get a taste of them too.

I’m only telling you want I’ve read.

Seems like this movie 100% more setup Spider-Man’s back to Sony. Hence he literally has no more contacts with anyone in MCU. They can do what every they want to do with him.

There seems to be some trade off between Sony and Disney that they trade characters back and forth, which is why dr strange is back in this movie.

It’s confusing.

Sony and Amy Pascal have both said Spider-Man is not done in the MCU though.

Yep, I had unreal expectations and it somehow far exceeded them, can't wait to see it again

https://screenrant.com/spiderman-4-m...ing-confirmed/

I myself do have a maybe slightly different take at the ending. Actually, it's more like a question mark.
Not detailed, but I will wait a little longer, until more people presumably watch the film, before writing it.

I think the Murdock scene is missed by a lot of people.

My oldest son knew what was going on, my 18 year old didn’t.

I don’t think. Everyone cheered in my theater.

Wow, just saw that this is the 2nd biggest opening day ever and on pace to be the 4th biggest opening weekend ever.

That's crazy to think about, in the middle of a pandemic to hit those kind of numbers, if there was no Covid right now, this might have been the biggest opening weekend of all time.

Pascal is a laughingstock after the hack. The only reason she has anything to do with Spider-Man is her $40 mil production deal from Sony to get lost.

Good movie but feels like a lot of fan service as expected. Doesn’t advance the MCU story as much as I would have liked but the next Dr. Strange movie appears to do that.

I do think the end is a symbol that he is starting new and fresh in every aspect possible. Kinda sucked when Happy didn’t even know who he was.

I feel like the Spider-Man movies, being owned by Sony, never really connect into the MCU. I’m okay with that. I’m burned out a bit on MCU proper stuff so it was nice to just have a story unfold rather than worry about it connecting to ten other movies.
