Default 2008(?) Topps Chrome Red Hot Rookies Clayton Kershaw -- what's the right date?

PSA calls these 2008, and indeed the card design is 2008 Topps. But the back not only has his stats for the 2008 season, but below has a copyright date of 2009. What's the deal with this card, is it in fact a rookie card? I am inclined to say no due to the copyright date.

The 2009 copyright is probably because they were redemptions.

I believe they were redemptions in 2008 topps. During the season topps would announce the cards. 20 in all.

I think some of the cards came out after the 2008 season.... hence the 2008 stats

Meaning the redemption cards weren't issued until the following year? So what year does that make the card?

These were in fact redemptions out of 2008 Series 2 flagship. By the time Kershaw was printed, it was 2009.

This card is a RC. It has the logo and came from a 2008 product.

I can buy into that reasoning, thanks.
