Default Superfractors of active players with HoF resumes...

Hi all,

I'm curious if you anticipate that superfractors, more specifically Topps Chrome superfractors, of current HoF caliber players will see an increase or jump in price in the future? Obviously superfractors are a different animal and prices are at an all time high all across the board for just about every player and card but I'm curious that when it comes to cards produced after their rookie year, if the superfractors of guys like Trout, Kershaw, Scherzer, Pujols, Cabrera, Verlander and Molina among others will be among the premium cards that collectors will seek out upon their retirement and enshrinement? We really haven't had many HoFers except for those who have played and been ensrined within the last 10 who have had superfractors produced as active players. So in terms of collecting it is a pretty new niche.

Just curious to hear the thoughts of others!

Thanks,

Jake

Just look at supers and 1/1 of retired stars being included in contemporary product. For instance KGJ and Jeter. What do you see?

Check out Trouts being sold in current product.

Probably gives some indication

I don’t buy Topps Chrome but I buy quite a bit of Bowman Chrome rare(Superfractor, red, and orange) of HOF caliber, fan favorites, and established stars. I think most of the players have been grossly overlooked as they age. I’d rather invest in the guys you listed above over unknown/unproven prospects. I don’t know if the prices will go up at a crazy rate but I think they could slowly go up over time.

Specifically talking about Superfractors- I have quite a few but really only 2 of HOF caliber players and both are Max Scherzer’s 2016 and 2017 Bowman Chrome. I absolutely think people will hunt for Superfractors of top tier players/HOFers from their playing days.

Topps Chrome Superfractors are an interesting concept to value. Obviously the folks who pulled and sold TC superfractors of RC players in the last 5 years are surely kicking themselves. As collectors, the unbelievable amount the Ohtani TC RC Auto Superfractor sold for this year crashed through the ceiling of what we thought was possible with a modern card. For allocators of capital, its opening even more eyes to cardboard as an alternate investment. At some point, it's pretty easy for asset allocators to unload some huge money in hopes of one return like the Ohtani. 5 years ago, $6k for a superfractor RC was big money. Now it's simply a drop in the bucket. New players have entered the arena and they bring with them huge amounts of cash to play with.

So yes, IMO superfractors, red refractors and gold refractors of HoF players and current stars are very good buys if the price is right.
