Default UK draft prospect Terrence Clarke dies in car accident.

Only 19. Absolutely tragic.

Didn't follow him much, but he had quite high draft grades on most boards. Terrible.

Wow! As a UK alumni and basketball fan, I am completely shocked.

RIP. So sad, prayers for the family and BBN.

While leaving the parking lot at the workout facility. That's just crazy.

I can't remember another time a high profile prospect passed right before the draft.

Wish his family peace right now...

Sad. Still blows my mind why people don’t wear seatbelts this day and age.

Wouldn't call it an "accident", he ran a red light at high speed and almost killed someone else.

Good grief...blows through a red light at a high rate of speed with no seat belt on?

Thank goodness nobody else was hurt.

BJ Boston was in the car behind Clarke when it happened. He's physically fine but man I can't imagine what that kid is going through right now.

Probably accelerated to try and beat a yellow light. See this so often around here it's a miracle this doesn't happen much more often.

So sad, regardless of the scenario.

Not sure if you are serious...

The only time it would be an accident if it was a mechanical failure with car/breaks.

He chose to not wear seat belts
He chose to speed.
He chose to run the red light.

No one can take responsibility anymore.

From what I read, "he was not wearing his seat belt properly" which means he may have only been wearing the lap belt. Its possible that he was bending over to pick up a dropped phone.....which can also cause your foot to depress the pedal and sudden acceleration. Just a theory but still driver error. The young man hit a truck, a pole and a solid wall....I dont think it was going to be good either way, sadly.

Are you always this dense? So the millions of car accidents that happen every year are related to only mechanical failure?

Everyone speeds and runs red lights on on occasions. He should have been wearing his seatbelt but either way it is 100% an accident.

We are blessed that the things we did as teenagers that should have taken us, didn't. It's the reason insurance is high up until mid 20s. All bad decisions don't end up like this which is why this is just a horrible circumstance

Closest I can come up with is Len Bias who died right after being drafted.

I'm not the most emotional guy but I have shed a lot of tears over this one. Terrence was a class act. Always had a smile on his face despite all the difficulties last year (both personal with his injury and never getting a chance to get in his groove and overall team issues). Kid was on the cusp of reaching his dreams and it just breaks my heart that he had all that taken away at such a young age.

God bless Terrence and his family. He will never be forgotten.

I can't even imagine the impact this will have on BJ Boston the rest of his career. Apparently watched all of this unfold in front of him. I will be pulling for him.

I feel you, brother. Just a devastating situation all around.

I lost my closest cousin 15 years ago to a car accident at college. Same age, 19...just embarking on life. So this story really resonated with me.

I'll probably get similar hate, but I still hold the sentiment that I am less saddened than others by this only because its caused by his own lack of care for himself and others while behind the wheel. He still struck another driver, who could have very well been the one who died in any other car wreck, and I am supposed to show ample sympathy? I get it, I do...but this wasn't an "accident" …more along the lines of irresponsible driving.

I have had two people I was close with through HS and college, die to an erratic driver speeding and t-boning their vehicle. I would not care if the driver was my absolute favorite athlete. I would still share the same sentiment I do now.

Thank you! Two now added. Life is way too short to waste time on insensitive trolls.
