Default What is the best card show or convention in North America for Hockey cards?

I searched the forum threads and didn't see an answer.

My main interest is graded high end late vintage or early modern, especially 70s and 80s cards. As things slowly open up over the next several months (a year maybe?), I want to go to a card show where I can find what I'm looking for. If anyone has any cool experiences finding hockey cards at shows, please tell us about them.

so maybe lookout for that

Sports Card Expo in Toronto at the International Center, would probably what you are looking for especially looking for those cards...

Not sure where you are located but Ontario is in another Lockdown and know there will not be an Expo any time soon but they do have a virtual Expo in place for the time being.

It's the granddaddy of card shows by the airport and technically in a suburban city adjacent to Toronto.

It's as the others have described 80 percent hockey and with vintage prices shooting up you will find more coming out of the wood work too.

If you aren't familiar with Toronto you will need a vehicle to get out to the show as pt is terrible getting out to this show if you are staying in any place but the hotels/motels in the area.

All public events are cancelled until June(I'm expecting that to be extended) and indoor gatherings are banned and outdoor gathers are now banned to but I expect that to be severely limited in a month or so.

The next big show could be 22' or at the earliest fall of 21'.

Thanks gentlemen. I'm looking forward to any card show I can go to.
Will definitely attend that one when they put it on.
Always better to be able to handle and see the cards or product up close.

Yeah. The expo was great for all that.
It will probably be crazy exaggerated prices this time around.

No more $40 ovechkin ygs and $500 crosby 9.5 fwa

Little Beaver looks like he is still hitting the weight room, nothing worse to see when a former player looks worse than the average dumpling on the street.

The GO train stop is right by the International Center for the Kitchener/Georgetown line.

Yes I forgot about the GO train line, I think UP express drops you off within a short cab fare too.

I was thinking about the TTC and the nightmare that would be. I remember doing this years ago and vowing to never do that again.

Do the dealers at the shows you mentioned, especially the Toronto Expo, carry a lot of Beckett slabs, especially for OPC hockey (80s stuff or earlier vintage)?

I have been three times. Each time I was amazed at how much was there. Every type of hockey card seemed to be there. Yes, lots of graded vintage- some laser sheet cut and some pack pulled!
