Default Advice needed for damaged card

Pulled this lovely gold label card - Jr y Jr 5/5
The surface is scratched to holy hell and the frame has a ding on it. Im not going to get it graded, but I can see how the value would be diminished if I tried to trade or sell it. Would this be something you'd send to topps for replacement or just deal with it?

I would think you would get nowhere near the same value if you get it replaced! I would hold onto it but that’s me.

I'll take it off your hands.

Two of the greatest young hitters in the game hand signed the same card, it is numbered to 5, and I wouldn't risk sending it in. We are in the insane time of everything needs to be graded, but numbered cards like this are silly to get graded IMO. The autos are beautiful and I would get a one touch for that card!

Yeah when i talked to Topps today they told me they dont have access to inventory totals, but that they would try to at least match the players who signed the card and whatever value they assess it at. They also told me if they thought it would grade higher than an 8.5, they would send the card back.

It's like a bad lottery, I was hoping to hear an experience from someone who sent in a "high" value card, just to see what was sent in return. Im more afraid of what they'll say the value is.....

What disco Dan man said.

Besides, I’m not even sure Topps would replace a card with the damage you state.

I assure you it's in a one touch, and safely locked away in a dark climate controlled place. I agree with you about grading, it's not my thing. I prefer raw cards, and this card is awesome. I think I'll not risk sending it in.

Thanks!

bottom right corner - that's not a reflection. Top left corner, there's a small chip in the frame. The top right has surface scratches all the way across it. it's very noticeable to the naked eye. Looks like the cards were scratched by a machine - they are very straight lines.
