I can't get mad at the Mariners. My wife grew up in Seattle.

Best of luck in 2025.

I'm disappointed Frenzy, I expected more bitterness out of you. I can't properly troll if you don't do your part.

Make a pro-gambling thread.

I hate the leagues getting in bed with bookies. Plenty of salt for you to mine.

I too get salty towards the proliferation of gambling. I'm primed for the troll.

Damn Mariners need to pick up some offense this offseason to go along with their good pitching staff.

But if they do that they might play postseason baseball. We know how the Mariners feel about postseason baseball.

Current lineup could use a boost...

https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-res...harts/mariners

Code:
1	RF	10	Victor Robles
2	CF	44	Julio Rodríguez
3	C	29	Cal Raleigh
4	LF	56	Randy Arozarena
5	1B	20	Luke Raley
6	DH	17	Mitch Haniger
7	SS	3	J.P. Crawford
8	2B	25	Dylan Moore
9	3B	4	Josh Rojas

We need to get better at First and Third quick.

And frankly SS based on last year.

Each of those positions are subpar if you honestly want to compete. DMo Raley and Rojas are great 5th IF/4th OF types but they start for you you’re not serious about competing.

Haniger is just washed at this point

I really hope they trade surplus prospects for some salary relief (take Haniger) and some IF improvement. And you have to bank on either Bliss or maybe Cole Young giving you some life.

Just a shame watching a once a decade pitching staff - 4 of which are under team control - have a run like they had for 2.5 years and avoid injuries and get matched with that offense.

On the bright side -

Dumper is getting the recognition he deserves.
I think Randy A is going to have a monster year.
I like Turner if they resign him as a part time DH.
Brash should be back in May.
Robles seemed to figure some things out after getting here.

I was doing my best not to crap on the entire lineup. If we're being honest every bat can go but Randy, Cal and Julio.

I’d say Victor, Julio, Randy, and Cal. The rest really need to go.

I hope you’re right about Arozarena because he didn’t do a whole lot with the Ms, really just a continuation of the mediocre season he was having with the Rays.

We're having an epic off season. Keep up the good work Mariners management.

Ugh, they should have traded for Vlad during the season, something along the lines of Castillo/Hancock, Cole Young & Henry Ford. Who knows if Jerry ever floated such an idea?

But hey bringing Jorge Polanco back! And continuing to stockpile middle infielders in the farm system who may become something in the bigs once this cheap incredible SP becomes ridiculously expensive seems like brilliant strategy right? But hey that’s why Jerry makes a couple mil a year. Continue being that yes man to Mr. Stanton.

PuddleMonkey are you from Seattle? They aren’t my team because I’m a brewers fan, but since I live in Seattle, I usually got to games when I can.

Yeah I grew up in and around Seattle. Started going to games in '86 with my brother.

Why was "The Frenzy" banned?" Never seemed that controversial.

I'm out of the loop but there's a thread about it in Off Topic. Not to be confused with Hot Topic, where The Frenzy can be found hanging out on the weekends.

I still cannot understand why the Mariners couldn’t trade some of their starting pitchers for some offensive to balance the team out. Man, it’s so frustrating to be a Mariners fan.

I moved up to the pnw back in 2019 after living in LA for quite a long time. I have a boy that just turned 8 and #@#@#@#@ing loves baseball. His localish team is the Mariners. We are more passively following pro ball at this point than I once did. But man, the Mariners are masters at edging from my experience following them the past handful of season. Good times in its own way I suppose.
