Default Has anyone every overscratched a redemption card?

Its not a big card but i pulled an Eloy Jimenez triple threads redemption.

Scratched the code with my key rather than a coin and ended up not being able to make out two of the digits in the middle.

Will Topps do anything about this for me or am i out of luck?

I believe they will have you mail in the redemption, old fashion way. Unless something has changed and I dont know about it.

Yes, and Brooks has it right, unless they changed it.

I always scratch with something plastic like the handle of a fork, spoon, or knife.

This has happened to me, but not as severely as two digits completely missing.

I had one digit that was partially missing, and I had to guess several times before getting it correct. Now I am much more careful when scratching any redemptions, or I just sell them.

Same thing happened to me. I called Topps and they told me to mail it in. There is a code next to the scratch off code that allows them to still redeem it for you.

I did the same thing so I called them. They asked for the horizontal (I think) number on the back of the card and then gave me the code to enter on the website.

Other than waiting on hold for almost an hour, it was pretty easy.

The best thing that I've found by far - the backside of the little nail cleaning tool in a set of nail clippers. It's got a little hook shaped thing on the end of it - use the back of the hook, and rub lightly. The covering comes right off.

There should be mail-in instructions on the bottom of the back of the card as well (unless you scratched it too). I’ve done this to a couple (one was a 1/1 Kris Bryant auto). The instructions are straightforward - I mailed it in with tracking and got the card back pretty quickly with no problem. I took pictures to be safe though

As everyone has said....you will have to mail it. I would call Topps to start the ticket #.

I did this about a year or so ago and everything went smoothly.

I did the exact same thing (scratched with a key). Thought it was a goner. Sent it by mail and got the card back from Topps in just a few weeks. I was surprised it was honored, but more surprised how quickly it was turned around.

I just mailed it in as well. I could not read the number after I scratched it off. I received my Luis Robert 85 Topps auto just this last Monday. No issues. It took a little over a month to receive the card.

I used a fork on one and scratched off half the numbers, mailed it in, got it returned in less than a month. Dont worry. They will figure it out.

Did this last year with a Tatis. I called them and they took care of it, just had to send in and card was received quickly.
