Did anyone here rip a good box of 2019-20 Prizm retail?

I'm not someone who expects monster pulls in every box, but I've talked to multiple people who opened a retail box, I did as well, without getting anything remotely significant.

Just check the appropriate videos on YouTube. Prizm can yield some decent stuff, or be very brutal. And this as when it was at MSRP! No way in hell I’d be paying huge mark ups for retail Panini anything, especially when the product has a huge checklist, and limited number of cRds like Prizm does. It’s a huge recipe for disaster.

I stumbled across some retail mega boxes of it in a Walmart right after release. I bought either 2 or 3 of the 5-6 they had, and pulled nothing of significance from them. I agree with the poster above - it seems to be a risk at MSRP. Paying jacked up prices for it seems crazy.

By retail, do you mean the 24ct boxes?

Odds are long. You get 6 silvers, 3 green and 3 ruby waves. 1 auto. Maybe a numbered /42 pink every 5-6 boxes.

I dis see someone post their Ja Auto pull in the retail box breaks section recently.

You can get three retail boxes or one hobby. Hobby a much bigger gamble with a bigger payoff if you hit on any of the numbered parallels.

I've been pretty happy with multiple Mosaic football megas (at msrp). I've opened three now and each mega yielded better stuff than anything I got in a full retail box of Prizm

I did two retail boxes today and pulled a Morant silver prizm. Oddly enough I was really after base set cards and didn’t get a base Morant or Zion, but seemed to cover everything else of note form a base card perspective. Will do a couple more tomorrow.

Yes, I actually broke two retail boxes at release, and luckily got Ja and RJ base auto for both boxes with a RJ Silver and Eric Paschall /42.

After that, got destroyed with the 2 Cello boxes and 3 more retail box. You win some and lose some.

The real 'value' out of basically any currently priced box these days is with PSA grading.

If you're ripping just for the raw cards, you're most likely going to lose your rear at current prices.

Super long odds of pulling a silver of either Ja or Zion, but a fairly good chance at landing some decent bass rookies for grading that still pay nicely, including Ja, Zion, Herro, Rui, and RJ.

I believe the 24ct box is best format to hit a rc base auto which sells for more than a graded silver of the same player. However the odds are still long because they seem to fall about 1 per case from the breaks I’ve watched.
If you do hit a top 5 or even top 10 rc, there’s a good chance to make most of your money back.
Speaking of which, has anyone seen a Jordan Bone? Still need that and the Zion.

I was getting these at $150 at one point and opened about 7. Most were bad but one had a Ja silver rookie penmanship auto, Zion base and Ja base.

One Zion base in 7 1/2 retail boxes. One pink (Joe Ingles) #42. I think a Herro ruby wave was my best pull. My 7 autos were nothing crazy

I opened two retail Boxes. First had a Sekou silver that gemmed and a zion emergent Green and base of all three top picks. Second had a zion silver that Gemmed.

Opened probably 30 hangers and didn’t get any zion color (silver, green, orange ice)

I pre ordered 10 from wally world and the very last box/last pack had a Zion silver RC Penmanship auto that graded a quad 9.5.
I should have kept them all sealed and I hit a top tier card 0_o I hit Ja silver, 2 zion base, and 2 #d /42 as well but other than that it was rough

My box of retail had a Silver Ja and base Zion; both got PSA 10s.

The box of cellos I got was absolutely brutal.

Current price of a baster and hanger is around $500 so I would be crying if that's all I pulled. This is also why I refuse to open wax at these marked up prices.

Retail boxes were always good boxes when you got them for retail price. Otherwise, be prepared to get destroyed.

At the prices of wax this year, no. However I still have my gravity box In The closet And it will stay there for a very long time.

I opened a ton of Prizm retail.

Megas were really bad for me.

Blasters I did ok... Got a Curry numbered to #25 and a few Zions and Ja base.

Cellos - awful. Prob one Zion in 40 of them.

Gravity - was money! pulled a Ja numbered to 39 I think (sold it too early)... and lots of other value.

Those purple prizm retail boxes were complete trash. Also stupidly pack searchable since the autos were always in one of the two packs on top. Cellos was the way to go with 19-20 prizm
