Knew it was coming but I'm going to miss him. Was one of my favorite Astro. Sucks the last couple of years they lost Keuchel, Cole, Springer, possibly Brantley this year and potentially Correa next year

Stacked with young dudes that haven't performed to a level where they would be a contender. Lucky to get a wild card, pitching will hold them back and they will miss playoff by 10+ games imo. Unless they get some pitching it is all for nothing.

Springer brings steady veteran presence, upgraded defense in CF and strong offence in the middle of a pretty potent lineup.

Maybe they're dangling some of their young hitters for an arm. I don't know. They don't have a single starter that they can count on for a full season. Can't win with that staff they have now. They need two top of the line starters.

Springer's good. But he's not what they need to compete. Similar to the Angels signing Rendon, except the Blue Jays lineup was already solid.

DH Teoscar Hernandez
LF - Lourdes Gurriel
1B - Rowdy Tellez
RF - Randall Grichuk
C - Alejandro Kirk

I could imagine an infielder will still be brought in to ease the 3B burden off of Vlad, which would push Teoscar into the field and ultimately displace Grichuk from the lineup.

Regardless, this sure makes a dangerous lineup even more potent—which bodes well for Vlad and Bichette collectors. And Teoscar and Lourdes collectors. And Biggio. Maybe even Rowdy.

I agree with all of this except the last point, Grichuk is the one they gave the extension to (11 mil for 4 more seasons), so he'll be the hardest to trade. I smell a package coming, sadly with probably Jansen or Kirk, and Lourdes (which I absolutely hate because he may out-perform Springer over the next 4 seasons), for a starter. But they're going for it, and this is what I (and any Jays fan), wanted, so there are going to be casualties. Would be nice if someone took Grichuk, but I think that's wishful thinking!

Apparently Springer is trying to convince his friend and former teammate, Brantley to come join him. Log jam in the outfield if they sign him but then would use one of the of's as trade bait to get a starter. Too bad Houston has non to trade, would have loved to acquire Gurriel to reunite him with his brother.
