Default Ebay Feedback Question

I was spot-checking someone's feedback after a somewhat strange message (wanted to buy something but couldn't pay until Tuesday) and noticed this person had several recent feedback about bidding and not paying etc. but they were all left as positive. I have to think these sellers initially left negative feedback. Did they get these changed by Ebay somehow? Is this the situation where the seller should have just given them a NPB strike instead of leaving feedback?

false positives. sellers have not been able to leave a neg. in many, many years. if the buyer reports them, they will get removed and the people who left them possibly suspended.

Got it, thanks for the help! As you can tell, it's been a while since I've used Ebay.

Yeah, been getting those messages more than usual lately.

It's not new. In truth, it's a pretty amateur tactic. It's right up there with "it's for my son". Pfffft.

Where is the creativity? Remember when douches put effort into their craft? These days it's the same tired crap over and over. Sad, really.

Is it really then about not being able to direct any negativity whatsoever towards a buyer? It's pretty obvious some of the scumbag moves getting pulled by the low-lifes these days. Is the seller's only recourse to rebut the buyer's feedback with some commentary? Or am i missing something really obvious?

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/f...policy?id=5030

Any misuse of feedback is not allowed. Feedback comments should match the positive or negative rating that was given in both buyer and seller feedback. For example, a negative comment should not be left with a positive rating.

Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension.

If the buyer reports anything negative in their feedback left by a seller Ebay will remove it and in many cases have been suspending sellers.

So then a seller can only respond as a rebuttal within a buyer's posted FB if there are issues?
Could i post a negative feedback, say " buyer falsely returned item as INAD/damaged rather than remorse or market dip"

not sure what you mean. but if you are asking if you can leave a negative rebuttal comment under a positive FB you left, then no.

read the policy linked above.

"Follow-up or reply comments must also match the rating, and can't be used to change a rating."

Yes, by rebuttal i meant a follow up or reply comment within the buyer's posted FB.
I didn't men to add a follow up to FB that i originally posted.
And I guess the bottom line with eBay is that as a seller I'm not allowed to straight up post negative feedback?
