It does nothing for me either, I'll pass.

In the beginning of the trailer she has a New York accent and within 2 mins, it's completely gone.

Margot Robbie.

Don't care about anything else. I'm watching for her.

That said I actually want to see this, I'm interested.

I’ll go see it because I’m a fan of Margot’s HQ portrayal, but I wish they would have went with the Gotham City Sirens (HQ, Ivy, Catwoman) movie idea instead...

Saw it Thursday night. Quite enjoyed it for Robbie's & McGregor's performances. I remember Robbie's interview about how she wanted to do this over Gotham Sirens to shine a light on Black Canary, Huntress, etc. as to general public they are unknown as opposed to Catwoman & Poison Ivy but everyone took a backseat to Harley Quinn in this so what was the point? The movie could have worked as simply "The Fantabulous emancipation of one Harley Quinn" and probably done better without the "Birds of Prey". As much as I like Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Huntress was brought into live action better on Arrow.

It`s DC biggest bomb at the box office since Jonah Hex.
Sell those Harley Quinn keys quick.
As someone famous would say : She is dead Jim!

The box office got an unpleasant surprise this weekend as Warner Bros./DC's "Birds of Prey" has fallen well short of expectations and posted a $33.2 million opening weekend from 4,239 screens, the worst start for a DC comics adaptation since "Jonah Hex" in 2010.

Guess the ‘R’ rating doesn’t always help or maybe it’s the timing of the movie? I’m not a fan of the dceu films but thought this would do well

BoP is not a bad movie. There are a lot of good things about it. Some of the fight scenes were great. You can tell in her performance that Margot really enjoys playing Harley. DC has typically done a nice job of casting people that care about their characters (Margot, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Zachary Levi come to mind), and that definitely helps.

I think where BoP stumbles is in making secondary characters the primary focus. The whole movie is set in Gotham yet there are only passing references to Batman. I totally get the fact that Ben is out as Batman and Robert is in, but not having a single scene with Batman makes it seem like something is missing. If they had a scene after Harley "breaks up" with Mr. J that she seeks out Batman for help and he just tells her she is on her own (tough love or whatever), that could have helped explain why he was staying out of the action, and given her more reason to establish her own identity.

As for the other characters, Black Canary and Black Mask were good. I did not like the Huntress character at all. Montoya was OK.

Now for the R rating. The movie tries hard to be the DC version of Deadpool. Some of the fight scenes were graphic... not gross, but more in the "Ouch that had to hurt" kind of way. Not to sound prudish, but F-bombs were flying frequently.

If you watch the movie for what it is, it is fine. If you think it should match up to the comics or other movies, you will probably not like it.

I’ll be glad to take BA12 off of someone’s hands for 70% off FMV.

She's not Batman, she's a second tier character with a devoted following. The movie will not break box office records, but it will make money and the character will be fine. Judging from reports over the last two years Harley Quinn back issue books were constantly requested from many dealer I speak with.

I've not seen the movie yet, but plan to. I think she's fun.

BA12 has not been as hot for me selling for sure after the original SS movie.

Having a Harley movie without Joker or Batman is just kinda dumb

Harley Quinn as a comic book superstar will be just fine. And I do mean superstar. If 2nd tier means 'will not sell as many books as Batman or Spider-Man', then you are correct. The fact that she is a normal human being with zero super powers (in comic book lore), she's a legit bad a$$. She doesn't even have to use gadgets or have boatloads of money like someone else we know.

The problem with DC is that they make the movies so damn dark and unfunny. Lighten the eff up DC, in more ways than one.

I have not seen it yet, but I'll give it a go.

they also failed because I didn't even know this was coming out until the week before and the commercial ended as soon as they showed the name of the movie. whoever was in charge of publicity messed up and seems they wanted it to fail. I'm not saying it's a good or bad movie. I haven't seen it and will probably wait for vudu credits to see it down the road.

I think they failed too, not directly related to the Joker, but HQ was seen in SS with Leto as the Joker, then you have Joaquin's portrayal winning awards and being released to home viewing at the same exact time of BoP. The non-big fans are probably super confused on story lines.

I have yet to see the movie, but I thought from the beginning, this should have been a Gotham Sirens flick. Show from the perspective of the bad guys, fighting the Birds of Prey. This team up just did not make much sense to me.

McGregor and Messina’s Black Mask and Victor Zsasz are two of the best on screen villain performances I’ve ever seen. Completely over the top, hamming it up to 11, and really elevating the movie along the way.

I got around to watching the film a couple weeks ago. Early in the film, it felt a bit like DCEU's take on Deadpool while retaining a Snyder influence in the soundtrack and visuals. I can see it appealing to a teenage demographic, and it would have been better off with a lower age rating
