Default Sooooo..... who is ready for 2020 basketball already?

With the ridiculous pricing and craze this year... who is looking forward to next year already?

Without the superstars in Ja and Zion would the market relapse a bit? Either way, I'm sick of this overpriced crap and "hunting" for junk retail because distributors are nickel and diming every last bit of the hobby... and not being able to purchase anything online at MSRP because bots get everything first whether its Topps, Panini, Target, or Walmart.

Anyways, just really hoping that basketball stuff falls back to reality a bit.

it's gonna fall back because there are no prospects in the upcoming draft that match up to Zion and then Ja once he got into the league and started spinning it

Junk retail? Feel free to leave it all for the kids or the neckbeards.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. It didn’t fall in a day either!

But it’s free market capitalism. Enjoy.

Prices will be high but not as high as this years with a subpar class. Everyone will be going back to buy this years product. Prices will be much much higher for 2019-20 product next year.

There are two sides to free market capitalism.

If the 2020 class is crap and demand drops, do you think pricing will drop?
My guess is not significantly. That’s where the “it’s capitalism” argument fails.

It’s market manipulation. Pricing will still be high, distributors will still strong arm LCS owners and breakers and you will either pay an inflated price or not. It’s much easier and quicker to increase prices when you are manipulating them than it is to drop them.

That’s the flag that free market variables aren’t the reason for the increase.

Prizm and optic are just too popular now. Sure boxes won’t be as ridiculous as this year and it might be “easier” to find retail but the days of optic and prizm hobby at mrsp is long gone. Lesser products will be close to mrsp next year. Sure you might have people trying to push 20-21 hoops and 20-21 flagship donruss above mrsp riding the residuals of Zion hype but lesser 20-21 products will settle at or below mrsp next year. Patience will be key next year

Of course a rookie we are all underestimated could blow up next year and throw all that out the window lol

Early stuff will still be stupid high. Blowout and others will see how much they can continue to get away with. So many new people don’t know any different. It’ll be the mid season stuff that comes back down to earth unless a rookie catches fire.

Next season's class is the worst since 2000, and not even a Kenyon Martin among them.

Prices will drop. Book it.

I agree that we get back closer to what we saw pre-2017/18. The class looks like garbage. However, all it takes is a Stephen Curry/Melo type March Madness run for someone to get hyped to the moon in this environment.

some of you seem to be focusing too much on who the rookies in the product are vs the people selling the product

Prices will be much lower next year. The only products that have come out so far that would be more than 10-15% over SRP (for 2020 class) will be optic, contenders and prizm.

2020 Optic $115

I can see how I was unclear. I’m saying that every product will be around SRP with the exception of prizm optic and contenders which will be substantially over. (For what has released so far)

If you don't buy, prices will drop.

Sounds like you are an wax addict. Go buy some singles.
99% of them are dirt cheap from this year.

To satisfy my craving I've been buying 2017 boxes that are under $70.
Just to help me stop shaking.
