It's a PSA 10 if it is slabbed a PSA 10 in an unadulterated slab, for now anyways. It could have received a friendly bump. It could be moving around and bumping against the edge.

Can you take a full slab picture for the folks here to review?

Grading companies only give an opinion. They are by no means consistent or even accurate. Slabs provide a safe liquidity for resale but don’t necessarily reflect what the actual condition of the card is. For that, trust your eyes and not what the slab says.
And I agree, like many other “10s” I’ve seen- that card is kinda shabby.

do you guys think it happened (from what i gathered from the comments) probably just by moving around in the case over the years and thats why? seems like the most likely reason? but im glad you guys generally agree it doesnt look like a solid 10

have to remember that PSA 10 and BGS 10's are not the same.

PSA 10s are not, nor should be expected to be, flawless

some cards are just factory rougher cut than others. given the very glossy top coat on these, I dont think its uncommon to find cuts like this that still can get a PSA 10 grade.

these actually have no gloss, and have a matte feel to them

Since you’re interested in the card, I’d suggest sending it back. As others have said the number on the label is just a guide.

Looks like an authentic, unaltered card.

None of the white goes into the edge. A little fuzz on a straight edge is good squishy IMO. Looks like an untrimmed 10. Nice card.

Look here and compare. Some of that seems common...

I stand corrected. figured these have the typical glossy fronts similar to the stadium club of the period.

PSA 10 also doesn't mean perfect.

I have a PSA 10 Nick senzel that my eye test says should be a 7 at best. It’s kinda a joke actually.

Idk the actual guidelines. But a PSA 10 can have some minor flaws, its all about the "eye appeal". A BGS 10 is one that should have 0 flaws. Thats always been my understanding. Thats why BGS 10s sell for SO much more then PSA 10s.

That looks like a pretty solid 1997 Fleer. The stock they used that year is terrible for fuzzing/rough edges. PSA takes things like that into account whereas Beckett does not.
