Default Cat food: wet or dry?

Hello everyone! We got a kitten about a month ago. I have heard a lot of things regarding dry vs wet food.

I have been giving her 1 can of wet food in the morning and a bowl of dried food in the evening.

What are your thoughts? Is wet food better for cats? Thank you.

We feed our cat wet food twice daily and leave a bowl of dry food out to be consumed at her discretion.

Neither. Feed them fresh meat.

My sister in laws cat was almost dead at age 6. She started feeding the cat steak and chicken and the cat lasted 4 more years.

You have to watch the wet food, its loaded with ash, Mercury and other bad things. Fresh pet or dry is best way!

What if I inherited the cat when I got married and I would like to usher along its demise?

It’s a cat, leave it outside to catch what it wants. Saves money

Talk with your vet.

I know that kitten food will be different from adult cat.

Currently, it is a combo of wet & dry food.
1/2 a can in the morning & 1/2 a can in the evening.
The dry food bowl is kept filled, for the entire day.

1. Wet = mostly the Fancy Feast: Gravy Lovers & the Fancy Feast: Creamy Delights.
Heard someone say it is crack for cats.
It is hard to find something healthy that doesn't get a turned up nose.

2. Dry = Blue Wilderness (chicken).

I avoid this version of the Creamy Delights.

Ashes eats cat food so I would trust his opinion.

A scoop of dry per week. Plenty of mice around for them to eat

We once got our cats wet food thinking they might like something special for a change. They've only eaten dry food their entire lives. They barfed everywhere.

Higher quality dry food all the time and some leftover meat every couple days.

Warm food is like warm apple pie. Think about it

Both. Dry food is good to keep their teeth healthy. My cat passed away 2 months ago he was 22 years old. I miss him. He loved chicken, steak, and hamburger.

I am so sorry. I am sure he lived a wonderful life as your faithful companion. What is your favorite memory of him?

Thank you for all the replies. We had a dog but she passed away in 2016. I am still grieving and not ready for another dog just yet. The time will present itself, I am sure.
