Default What do you keep your AC set at in the summer?

I just dropped mine from 74 to 72 because it's been hot. Curious where you guys have yours set at when it's 90 degrees out.

Usually I keep it around 76 when I'm out of the apartment and back down to 73-74 when I am home.

82 while out. 77 at home. And we'll have 40+ days of +100...

78 when I’m not at home. 73 when I am. I contemplated turning it down a little bit more last night as it was hot.

Georgia summers can be brutal (although not as bad as others) so I try to keep all ceiling fans on too.

73 and it's usually comfortable regardless if it's 80 or 100 outside.

My husband prefers it much cooler than I do. So, we compromise and keep it a little warmer during the day and cooler at night so he can sleep. I sleep with a heated nblanket year round because of it.

I cannot understand how some of you leave your temperatures that high. Thats insane, I'd be freaking out with it that hot in my house. My thermostat doesn't go above 70

Any higher than 78 and I'm perspiring while just sitting around, especially if it's really humid.

Set at 76 when not home, 74-72 when home.

What made me start this thread was a pamphlet from my energy company saying 78 degrees is an ideal temp inside during summer. Seemed way too warm, especially at night.

Do you guys leave the fan to run all day? Not ceiling fans but the one on the central system.

I would imagine that obesity might have a big impact on responses in this thread.

I ran the fan the other day for circulation. I typically don’t.

I think we keep it at 72-74....back in the day when I lived in an apartment with all utilities included then it would be at 68, same for when I’m traveling & in a hotel. I’m guessing the biggest driving factor in the varying answers is more house size/ living situation vs actual temp preference

Man, yall are crazy with the heat.

My bedroom is 69 with a fan running at night.

The house is usually 72, but its because my basement stays like 60 haha

I'm in Illinois. I like it cold. But I run a tight budget. So 74 is where I'm at. Helps cut down the humidity, which helps keeps cards nice and stable. One of these days I'm moving way north. Minnesota or North Dakota or someplace where the summers aren't so hot and humid. Maybe Alaska, that would be awesome.
