Default Problem w/uploading card pic file

I am trying to upload a couple of pics for grading advice, as I am very new to this and could use all the help I could get to keep from wasting $8 per card. However, when I try to upload a pic from photobucket using the URL I get an immediate error message. When I try to upload the pic from my PC it starts to upload, you see the bar fill up showing that it is uploading, and before it can finish it says "upload of file has failed." Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

could be anything from internet speed to resolution to high causing the file size to be to big? What file type are you trying to upload?

From photobucket I assume your using the direct link?

are you clicking the insert image button and pasting the link into that box? or just posting the direct link? what error message are you getting when trying to use the link from photobucket?

I'm scanning the card in 600 dpi. Is that ok?
Yes, when I click the insert image button, it pops up a seperate smaller box. I then copy the IMC code from my card on photobucket, & I paste it into the box where you can attach the URL on this thread. However, it copies the actual code and not the picture itself. Is that normal? Never done this before so I did not know if the picture itself shows up 1st or the code.

For Photobucket, you’ll just want to paste the links directly into your message text box with a [ img ]url here[ /img ] for the images to show up (just minus the spaces in the { } portions).

By pasting the url like you are into the image upload its looking for the direct .jpg off your computer and getting an unusable to it link to something else.

I had this problem the other day. I think it is the size of the files (or was for me). I want to say you can post pictures up to 4.5MB? I know I was able to successfully upload a file that was 3MB right after one that was 4.7MB failed, which is what led me to believe it was 4.5MB, but I'm not 100% on the maximum size.

Interestingly, he seems to have “thanked” a few threads on this topic in the last day... all old and thus bumped back to the top... ?!?!
