Default Best Young Players and Card Types for Investment

What are thoughts on players and cards to collect for investment purposes for modern baseball? Curious in what young players have not only superstar potential, but also the desirability that leads to values holding/increasing overtime. Also, what card types are people targeting? In a world with so many parallel types, it's hard to guess what is going to hold value best. Clearly anything graded PSA 10 has a massive premium, but what are thoughts about targeting PSA 9 stuff which is much more affordable and still high quality?

1st Bowman Chrome Auto Red/5, Orange /25, and Rookie Debut Auto 1/1

Everything else will be pump and dump within a couple months of release. The window to flip for a decent profit is smaller than it's ever been and with economic uncertainty the pool of people able and willing to throw that kind of money is smaller than ever.

You'll find out quickly in the sports collectibles field that you need to do your own research as far as making money goes on prospects. People tend to not want to share who / what they are focusing on because they don't want your competition driving up prices - at least until they are ready to sell. Good luck!

Breakers really ruined prospecting by driving up the price of unopened wax. It's not an affordable (or worthwhile) venture anymore.

Stock Market

Plays for Team USA

I think he has some good hands, pretty toolsy outfielder with a good baseball body. Only downside he has prolonged slumps but usually bounces back.

1) Must be a superstar. Ohtani really is probably the only investment grade player. Sure there are a lot of superstars like Witt but if we are talking comparisons to a blue chip corporate stock it is Ohtani.

2) PSA 9 is probably good enough but won't see the same type of growth.

1st Bowman auto is the best investment. 2018 Topps parallels and autos are good too.

I'm buying Braylon Payne. Low cost, young, outfielder. You can buy his Bowman 1st auto for $25. Refractor is $50-$60. Blue runs $125-$150. Gold $300ish. No oranges on the market. No reds on the market. He has Leaf autos and insert autos, but I'd avoid those. Value goes to the 1st auto. Some of his stuff has popped up graded but not much. Very affordable prospect with possible upside. Be prepared to lose every dollar you spend, as is tradition with prospects. This is not a short-term value play. As with any purchase, expect people on these forums to tell you that you are an idiot, you are spending too much, you are buying the wrong cards, and you know nothing about baseball. Welcome to the Blowout forums!

This Buxton guy is said to be the next Griffey.
