Right now, where do you rank Lebron all time?

I know there are so much discussion about this already forgive me for another thread, but I added a poll on this one.

I am just curious where the majority put him now in the all time ranking.

I know some think he is the goat already, which I strongly disagree.

However, the way he carried his team so far in the playoff is VERY IMPRESSIVE.

I would not be surprised if he will be in the finals again, and even if he lose in the finals, that would be over achievement as no-one expect CAVS will beat the Warriors/Houston this year with this roster.

A year ago, I thought people who think he is already #2 all time are crazy, but now I can see those people may have a point. IMO when it's all said and done Lebron most likely will be #2 all time, if he is not already.

Nobody will ever agree so it's moot, but if you are putting players from any era in today's NBA you wouldn't think they are so good (barring a few).

Bill Russell is an obvious All-Time Great, but if he was a RC in 2012 and playing currently he would be an after thought in today's game. So while you can pay homage to the stars of the past, few if any would hold up. Their bodies and the level of competition today has so far surpassed anything from even the 80s. It's the same sport, but played by far greater athletes. The average player in today's NBA would start on almost every NBA team from the 80's and prior. The Warriors of today could quite possibly go undefeated vs the 8 teams that played during the 1960-61 season.

Bill Russell is a career 15/22 guy. You can forget about 22 rebounds from the jump, it's not happening. So now we're watching Russell in an NBA that doesn't regard big men, which has multiple positions vying for rebounds, and in an NBA that's so far beyond what athletes in the 1960's were doing it wouldn't be fair to those players from yesteryear.

Basically, I just think we need to rank players across era's and not on an all-time list.

lebrons health alone puts him at at least number 2.

He does NOT slow down. He is doing things passed his prime that even stars IN their prime cannot do.

You don't have to agree... but I'll take the long term team success that Duncan was responsible over Lebron to this point. Lebron is more fun too watch, but Duncan's career is better to this point to me. Duncan made late first rounder and second rounders into hall of famers. Having said that, if Lebron wins in this year, even though he'll still be behind Duncan in being count, I think I'd bump him to 5. Wilt's dominance is still more impressive, so I can't put him 4. But he gets in my top 5 with another championship this year.

I disagree. While TD is the greatest pound for pound at his position ever in my opinion, I think the Spurs organization, coaching and evaluating prospects gets that credit. Seriously, they draft guys that "buy into their system" and it works. Guys leave it and become nobodies.....think Dajuan Blair.....

Manu and Parker bought into the system, Patty Mills and Danny Green did also.

I think Duncan played a huge part in players buying in, and although the Spurs are a great organization, I think Duncan deserves a lot more credit than you're giving him.

Totally fine. You might be right. I don't see it that way though.

Duncan is the second greatest player I've ever seen. Lebron is a clear number 3. Better than Magic, Larry, Hakeem, and Shaq. Elite status. But he hasn't passed Duncan yet.

I have him outside the top 5 but have no issue with those arguing he should be there. Personally I have:

1. MJ
2. Kareem
3. Magic
4. Wilt
5. Bird
6. Russell
7. Shaq

Those are the names I have no debate about putting over him at THIS PRESENT MOMENT.

I favor Duncan and Hakeem but struggle with placing them above him. Full disclosure, on talent alone I put Hakeem 3 lol. Starting a team? Maybe my #2 guy. I’d love to put Kobe above Lebron and maybe I could on career/legacy at the moment but certainly not in ability. Lebron should easily be able to pass those guys if he can stay at a high level.

That said, any of these names are all amazing. Those top 3 will be so hard to pass though.

The most impressive thing is we are arguing where he ranks and he’s not even close to done yet, he will go down without a doubt 1 or 2 and it’s not really close. Him or Jordan, lebron needs another championship imo to get there

He might go down as 1 or 2, but saying that it's not going to be close just doesn't make sense.

He'll never win as many rings as Russell.

He'll never average 50 a game or score 100 in a game.

He's pretty likely to not win as many rings as Duncan or Kareem....

Saying that "it's not really close" even assuming that he's really good for 3-4 more years doesn't make sense.

Right now he has a long long way to go to get to Kareem in points and championships.
