Default Jerry Jones recent anthem comments

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...flag-wont-play

i get it, he's the owner of the team, and he's run it pretty much his way or the highway since he bought them. I still think, regardless how you feel about the issue, putting something like this out there is dangerous territory for one reason.

What does he do if Dak, Zeke, Dez, or any of the other studs kneels? He benches that player and they lose, or he doesn't bench that player and he loses face. really tough situation to put himself into.

He is just enforcing the rules. I seriously don't know why this is even an issue.

The Game Operations manual states that players are required to stand. It's all over the internet if one looks.

Or, is this all fake news?

He wouldn't bench Dak. Or Sean Lee. Or any good player.

Pandering is never fun for anyone. America should be about choice. Live and let live. Stand if you want, sit if you want. It doesn't directly help or hurt anyone so it's a non-issue.

look, i get it. I'm saying why even say something like this though? He really puts himself into a brutal situation possibly.

I agree he has put himself into a situation, but he has sided with the NFL rules. The players are like children who don't like the rules of the house, so want to throw a tantrum.

They have every right to protest whatever they want, but the rules are the rules. Without them, there is chaos. If those 23 49'er players went down the street after the game, set up shop in front of a police station, I am sure the NFL, the owners, and the fans would have their back.

The NFL really needs to enforce it's own rules for the sake of the game. Any business doesn't want to lose customers. Protesting during the anthem offends a lot of people, so why (NFL) take a chance?

I, for one, am happy at least one owner is taking a stance. I really hope the rest of the league follows suit and encourages the players protesting, to protest where the protesting needs to be done, in front of police stations if it's about police brutality, or on the steps on Congress, city halls etc.

Ross for the Dolphins said pretty much the same thing.

Pretty simple, do your protesting before or after the anthem.

I hope I never see a huge American flag draped across that field.

Jerry Jones will however let anyone that beats up a woman play on his team.

If, and when, he sits Elliot or Prescott, I will absolutely believe that this isn't about Jerry's interests ($$$)...

Good to see Jerry saying enough is enough.
So tired of seeing players disrespecting our national anthem.
Can't follow the rules? Go get a real job...

How about players disrespecting females? How do you feel about that?

They did it before the anthem. He is talking about during the anthem.

Chaos??? That's a little much, don't you think?

I haven't seen any chaos because of the players taking a knee.

Never have been a fan of Jerry, but I'm 100% behind him on this. Way to stand up for our country instead of whiny football players that want to make a scene.

Talking about rules in general. If there are no rules, whether it's in football, a business, or at home, chaos can ensue. Imagine if you let your kids do what they want from day one? Rules are needed. I agree, no chaos with the players kneeling, but rules are rules. Enforcing them is paramount to any successful home or business.

I'm not disagreeing with the general premise, just when applied to this situation it doesn't hold up in my book.

Whether the players stand or kneel, the NFL will still make money hand over fist. The NFL will be successful no matter what happens with these protests. They truly are a non-issue, in regards to the league as a whole.

CTE and concussions, that's the NFL's big issue.

At least one owner is willing to standup for his own interests here. The owners as a collective are running a business. A business that up until now has been the most successful sports league in the country. The cheapest team is valued at $1.6 billion. This kneeling issue is eroding their fan base, and the numbers prove it.

It’s a hard line to toe for the owners. But at the end of the day, they have to protect the value of their franchise and league.

It's too bad that owner is fine with men beating up a female.

I'm sorry, when did he beat up a female? Also, when did he own a professional sports team and sign someone who has?
