Default As an outsider, I'd like to share my opinion on this anthem stuff

As an Australian fan of all major US pro and college sports, I've been quite caught up in this anthem #@#@#@#@#@#@#@#@ for a while now and I'd like to share my opinion...

you are all idiots.
You people are either protesting police brutality which is outnumbered by the own murders black people do to other blacks, or you are claiming that people are disrespecting a song and/or soldiers, who entered the armed forces fully understanding that they were fighting for peoples right to protest, not some flag or song.

You people are overreacting so badly - I have to ask why?
This discussion is pointless and people are overreacting so badlu to a person taking up a certain body pose for 2 minutes of the day BEFORE THE GAME

What do you mean you people? Haha . Americans are pretty dumb, so I can’t argue that since I’m part of the problem.

Coming from a guy who lives in a country that was founded to get rid of criminals and undesirables I take this as a compliment.

I walked up to my Boss today. I told him I was going to make a political scene, that most of his customers do NOT want to see.

I told him I would do so in front of all of his clients. That I want to force my agenda on them, while on the clock, since it gives me the biggest podium to do so.

You should have seen the look on his face!

This is not about the message. I would think most people agree with that. It is about the place they are doing it. They are doing it, unapproved by the League, while being televised globally. That is not the image their employers want to send.

If they wanted to do so during a Supermarket opening, or during an autograph appearance. Fine! No issues. But not on the clock, and while most of the stadium is standing in tribute to the flag which represents everything Americans hold dear.

Because this country went from being informed and sharing ideals to everyone thinking that their way of thinking is “right” and those that differ are “wrong”, and now with social media, they can spew out whatever they want as fast as they type, with no real accountability.

But during the anthem is not on the clock...
Technically by your reasoning the NFL equivalent of what you just said would be somebody stopping during a play with 7:23 left in the 3rd quarter so they could kneel.

They are not on the clock during an anthem

Some could argue that they are a salaried employee in uniform under contract and not hourly so therefore it really doesn't matter when the clock starts?
