Default Kyle Lowry OUT for the year

Maybe back for the playoffs?

Holy F! Masai should be fired for letting him play in the All Star game AND SHOOT IN THE 3PT CONTEST!!!

Kyle Lowry to undergo surgery Tuesday morning to remove loose bodies from right wrist. Aim to return for playoffs.

Returning for the playoffs isn't "out for the year".

Woj is reporting he'll miss 4-5 weeks and could play the last few regular season games before the playoffs even start.

well this stinks. Hopefully Lowry recovers quickly after his surgery and no Masai won't be fired over this.

Aiming for the playoffs isnt "Guaranteed back for the playoffs"

Also I didnt think they would fire the GM, but this is a TERRIBLE look for them if they knew he was hurt and let this happen.

Plus, they need to get out of the bottom of the East to avoid Cleveland in the 2nd round and this will impact it

Masai is the best thing to ever happen to that franchise. Calm down.

This is one thing I hate about Lowry - he injured himself during the charlotte game couple weeks ago. He kept this to himself without telling anyone - and even participated the all-star game?? I mean WTF?

By a landslide margin. And the Raptors had no reason to hold Lowry out of the All-Star game because they didn't even know that it was a serious issue.

Kyle Lowry plays through injury in All-Star game, out for Raptors now | ProBasketballTalk

“Honestly, I thought I’d slept on it wrong — I thought it would go away,” Lowry said. “It was a little sore, but I paid no attention to it.”

Unconcerned at the time, Lowry didn’t tell anyone but his wife about the wrist pain, and took off for New Orleans where he participated in both the NBA’s three-point contest and all-star game this past weekend. He received some treatment in between his all-star appearances and iced his wrist on and off, but he still saw little cause for alarm.

“I thought over the break it would rest up and heal up,” Lowry said. “But it constantly stayed bothering me.”

Out of the bottom? Theyre tied for 3rd and a few games back from 2nd. They can easily compete for a top 3 spot in the east.

See thats even worse. Lowry keeping it to himself might have just caused them an early exit from the playoffs.

And he knew it was sore and didnt stop playing.

I mean this is great for the Celtics, but as a Raptors fan I would be PISSED. This could have been prevented.

A showdown with Lebron is coming and if Lowry isnt 100%....

Seriously? Without Lowry going forward...you think they finish top 3?

Come on

They are 4th right now and just lost their best player for the last 20+ games.

This is the only team I believe can upset the Cavs with the Ibaka addition.

Don't love the title of this thread OP. Everything that I have seen says that they believe that he could very well be back for regular season games.

This is HUGE though, no doubt.

If they can play 2-3 games in the regular season, then 5-6 in the first round, that should give them some time to build some chemistry for a rough second round series (whoever it might be against. Lowry is the heart of that team. Hopefully, playing mostly EC teams the rest of the way, they can keep it together. Joseph is good, and they are deep. They should be able to survive.

its likely he didnt do any further damage doing the all star stuff or playing after it anyway.

also he never shouldve been in the 3 pt contest to start with because hes not a great 3 pt shooter.

finally, ive never seen a player with worse shot selection on 3's in the history of the nba, i basically only watch the raptors when they play the nets, but every single game he'll shoot about 2 on a fast break, which almost always miss, and he'll shoot another 2-3 after dribbling around, possibly from layup distance, back out to 3, turn around and shoot it. its amazing his percentage is as high as it is, its just awful shot selection and they dont reprimand him on it because hes the star of the team. if i was his coach i would shut that down right away and he'd probably be shooting 50% from the field without those bad shots.

Yes. No doubt in my mind. Worst case 4th. They haven't exactly been playing horrible with out him. Only 9 of their next 23 are against teams above .500.

If they can manage too weather the storm it may in a backward kinda way work in their favour. They were already talking of reducing his minutes in the last quarter of the season. He'll have really fresh legs if he's back for the playoffs.

I guess you've only watched like 3 NBA games in your life then. I could name about 100 guys with a worse shot selection on 3s.

Huh? He's shooting .417 with over 8 attempts per game. Just to put that in perspective. There's only 3 guys shooting over .400 with 8 shots or more per game.

1. Klay .422
2. Lowry .417
3. Curry .415

I think he might be a decent 3pt shooter.

You know things are bad when clickbaity wording is used on message board threads and not just ad based web articles.

It's amazing to me how people really expose how little they actually watch the NBA on this board.

90% of the board "watches" the NBA through box scores. To be fair even if you watched only box scores you'd be able to tell he doesn't have the worst 3pt selection ever

Very true. Often times these are the same sort of people who are into the hobby just to flip whoever is hot at the moment.
