I was a big fan of Flawless it's first year, but this year I have totally forgotten about it's release (and I didn't even realize today was the release date). Anyone else feel the same way? In large but, I have moved on to the 2017-18 releases and new rookie class. Has anyone else completely forgotten about Flawless as a product? Just wondering.
![]() Side note (just for fun): what do you think is the best way to identify a PBM on the basketball forums? What are the best tells and indicators? |

While the lure and draw of the 17/18 class is strong, forgetting Flawless is maybe more about do you collect regularly or more in the Pre-Panini era. If you collect a current player or team with the exception of the new rooks, a release such as Flawless should be on your mind. I know the design is becoming wary, but not forgettable.

Someone asked me why I wasn't buying Flawless this year. My response - I don't like to lose money, and Flawless is one of those products where it's definitely for gamblers but even the high isn't as high as say NT. NT consistently sells higher.
I just saw the preview that Panini put up. Rough. |

Was going to move on to the 17-18 "stacked" draft class, but then Prizm FOTL is asking for 400/box, and I'm out at that price. Prizm is great fun, but good luck pulling a Lonzo/Tatum gold to make your $ back at that price.
Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram, Jaylen Brown, Jamal Murray from the "weak" 16-17 class will crush this overhyped 17-18 class. Flawless isn't a rookie product though. |

I think when it comes to flawless it is all about money. Yeah you get rare cards but every box has rare cards. I am sure there are some that never reach the market. The ones that do you have to have big money to buy the cards you need. As a player PCer it is more about the hunt. using contacts to locate people and collections. I am not against flawless I just don't see something as rare when the whole box is rare cards.

What I have noticed is that Flawless and to an even bigger extent Immaculate, once Panini darling products, have such bad ROI people don't care. People who want to bust boxes can't even get them at normal prices. LCS can't get them, so they all go to the wholesalers for absurd prices or breakers. Therefore most normal people who like high end are like, yea you bust those cases and I'll just pick up what I want in a few weeks when everything drops.
Add to that the fact that Simmons is the only real monster pull and there you have it, lack of excitement.
