Default Best of Basketball

Out of curiosity, what's to stop a collector, or group of collectors, from doing something similar to Leaf's Best of... stuff?

They're buyback cards from other brands anyways so couldn't a group get together and then release boxes that had older, graded cards? Is it just a matter of not having enough credibility from buyers so people wouldn't buy the product?

Yes, that's the issue. I could easily do a buyback release from my Durant PC, throw in some Jordans, LeBrons, Bill Russell, Erving, Iverson, Towns, some hot graded rookies, Simmons, Magic, Wilt, Duncan, Logomen, fleer rookies, etc.

I've actually thought about doing that when I decide to sell them all someday...which will be never.

If you look around social media lots of people do their own little versions of it. I'll stick to singles and a little bit of real wax now and then. I get these products though. Some people eat them up and they have good ROI.

What are the Super Breaks? I didn't have a great experience with the Leaf Best of Basketball so it seems like you could make a product with less variance, basically a higher floor on the cards you get.

I could see even just buying ten higher end cards ranging from $50-200 in value and then somehow packaging them and auctioning off the rights to the "first" card numbered one through ten.

Just YouTube some of their basketball breaks. Basically they have different tiers, with the super high end involving redemptions of different types of memorabilia.

They were criticized a lot for their pricing and hits.

Yeah, I mean if I put say 10 4-figure cards, and a bunch in the 400-600 range per box I wonder what you could sell a personal Super Break for. Could list all the top hits or a full checklist.
