Are you tired of drafting a pitcher only for them to tear a ligament a week later? Frustrated trying to reconcile traditional fantasy baseball pitching categories with modern day realities of how pitchers are now used? Why not ditch the pitchers entirely and have a league that is only based on offense?

Todderfield Rosters C x2 1B 2B 3B SS MI CI OF x4 Util x2 Bench x4 IL x3 Total of 18 active slots, plus 3 IL slots Scoring Total Bases: 1 Walks: 1 Runs Scored: 1.5 Runs Batted In: 1.5 Stolen Bases: 1.5 Strikeouts: -1 Caught Stealing: -1 Hitting for the Cycle: 5 Matchups and acquisitions Head to head weekly matchups, where every team is matched up against every other team in the league. You receive a win for every team you outscore that week, a loss for every team that outscores you, and a tie for every team you score the same number of points as in that week. With 9 total teams in the league, this means you will receive a combined 8 wins/losses/ties from each weekly matchup. This format removes some of the randomness of traditional 1v1 head to head, while still being more interesting week to week than going to total season points. Lineups will be set weekly, with roster slots locking individually at each game's first pitch. The free agent pool will be permanently on waivers. Waiver claims process on Wednesday and Sunday mornings. There is no weekly acquisition limit. The waiver order will be reset after each matchup to be in the reverse order of the current standings. Trades Trades will be allowed, up until a midseason trade deadline each year. You may trade draft picks prior to each season's draft, but there will be no in-season trades of players for draft picks. This is to prevent a team from mass trading their future picks for top end players and then abandoning their team while leaving a new owner with poor draft capital. Playoffs and tiebreakers There will not a traditional playoff bracket. The final standings at the end of the regular season will determine who wins. There will be no tiebreakers for each individual weekly matchup - if 2 teams score the same number of points as each other, the both receive a tie. The following tiebreakers will be used to break ties in final record at the end of the season for purposes of determining final standings: 1. Total points scored over the full season 2. Head to head record against all teams tied 3. Coin flip (generated automatically through Fantrax's software) Draft Draft will be held online on Fantrax each year. This will be a slow draft, with a 24-hour pick clock. You will be able to set up email or smartphone app alerts to get notified when it is your turn to pick. Autodraft will kick in if you allow the 24 hour clock to expire. If this happens for 2 consecutive picks from the same owner, that owner will be set on autodraft for the remainder of the draft until they get in touch for the league manager. Draft will be snake format, with a random order for year 1. For all following years, the draft order will be the reverse of the final standings from the prior season. Draft picks may be traded, but only for the current draft - no trading future picks for now. This league will be a full redraft league, no keepers. Buy-ins and payouts There will be a $25 buy-in each season, collected through Fantrax. Payouts will be awarded to the top 3 finishers: First place: $150 Second place: $50 Third place: $25 The above is based off having 9 teams in the league and a $225 prize pool. This can be adjusted if teams are added or removed over time.

7 so far - down to 1 more! We can take 3 as well - and really, thanks to the schedule format of every team facing off against every other team each week, there's no reason we need to have an even number. We can make this work with 7 or 9 just fine as well

My man
I'm going to leave this open for another day or two to see if we attract anyone else, and then we can get chatting about how we want to set up some of the remaining settings

Let's start chatting on some rules and if any other interested parties come up, we can still work them in
This time around I'd like to see if we can get away without any formal voting process needed and keep it more conversational. Though if we're split on things, we may still have to vote. Or, I can just decide things for us as well ![]() Let's start with a few main topics. I'll list the background/main options and my opinion for each Playoffs Should we have playoffs? Or just let the final records determine placement? My take - let's keep a normal playoffs (top 4 - assuming 8 teams) make it, single head to head matchups in a normal bracket. Meaning the league-wide head to head only lasts until playoffs, then in playoffs you are competing against only your opponent Payouts Format My take - assuming 8 teams at $25 per, that's a $200 prize pool. $100 to 1st, $50 to 2nd, $25 to 3rd, and $25 to best regular season record Keepers Should there be keepers? How many? My take - I think I'd be leaning pure redraft here, but I'd be fine with like max of 3 keepers if that's what people want. Ultimately I'd be hoping for a system that creates more turnover than other leagues, so if we do keepers, maybe only allow keeping them for like 3 consecutive years before they have to be thrown back. Really would like something that guards against staleness of everyone having late round keepers and no incentives to move anyone There's a couple other smaller details to sort out as well, but we'll start with the bigger 3 for now

I would like to not have the randomness of a match up determine the league winner. I'd rather no playoffs at all and just let it run until the end of the season.

My preferences:
No playoffs - final standings Payout - 1st gets $150, 2nd gets $50 Keepers - No. Redraft every year. |

also will this be a max acquisition per week? I notice no bench so it's essentially daily lineups but I would want to cap the amount of moves per week because full disclosure I will fully burn a spot just to cycle daily pickups if it's no limit.
I'd say something like 3 pickups per week like the keeper leagues would be good. |

third post! random idea...what if we bump it up to $30 entry and the extra $5 goes to the single highest scoring week of the season? That would give incentive to people out of the final standings to keep competing for a chance to win back their entry fee plus a little more.

I’m a no keepers here. This type of league should be full redraft.
I’m ok with no playoffs too. Whole season matters

I didn't include bench spots but I was envisioning having a few. But this feels like a league that could be good to have lineups set weekly instead of daily - I'm open to either way on that one

Weekly lineups wouldn't be a bad idea, but bench spots are a must IMO. Not like 5-6, but 3-4 max just so you have options

Since its pretty much same guys as the other leagues, I'd be 9 if you can find a 10.

No need for a 10th if we're running with the everyone plays everyone each week, and especially if there's not going to be a playoff bracket which is the prevailing opinion so far. You're in if you'd like!

My vote is no keepers, no playoffs, add a few bench spots.
Fine with any payout allotment, though prefer less teams (either top 3/top 2 with other incentives) getting payouts if we're not having playoffs. |

No Keepers, No Playoffs, handful of bench slots. Weekly set if possible would be cool since you don't see it much anymore.

No keepers, no playoffs, yes bench.
Love the “rotisserie” style where youre scored against every team every week. |
