Default My Xmas Break Football Project - Suggestions Needed

So, I've got around 40,000-60,000 base/insert Football cards from the past few years... that I am beginning to sort thru and put into teams.

If I'm looking to sell them, which is better... player lots or team lots?

As an example

Assuming I could get these prices...

is it better to sell 200 Tom Brady cards for $25 (.12 Cents each)

or sell 1,200 Patriot cards for $60? (.05 cents each)

Any help would be appreciated

I'm not in this "click," haha, but I say sell them in player lots for the name guys and team lots for the scrubs.

I was thinking about that, but I'm more concerned about cleaning out all my space at once... I think selling individually would yield quicker sales, but I'd ultimately end up with a ton of cards... my goal is to get rid of all of them.... thanks!

Id separate it by star players, then the rest in teams, I think star players lots will move quicker...

If you have 1996 Bowmans best Errict Rhett Atomic, I would be interested..

First off, you seem to be ok with getting pennies for the dollars you've previously spend.

That's not only a plus, it's realistic.

If you're looking to move a massive amount of cards, you've got a few options and they depend on what you've got. Any autos? Jerseys? Nice RCs? Graded? Or is it all base?

If it's all (or 98%) base, I say slap a bottom dollar price on it ($800-1000) and try to sell the whole lot.

If you've got some decent stuff tucked away in there, I'd say break it up into team lots and auction them off. Player lots work ok for guys like Brady and Manning, but will still leave you 79,900 cards once you're finished and no "nice" cards to swing the sale of your common base. Avoid player lots with a collection of that size.

I'd contact the mods on what you're best options would be within the forum rules for moving such huge team lots. If you sell a 5,000 card lot on here and someone gets pissy, it will help if you've already been in contact with the mods and kept them informed. Or.....you could always break up into team lots, photo the best cards, and create 32 $0.99 10-day auctions on ebay. BE SURE TO INCLUDE SHIPPING IN THE LISTING!

On a side note: If you live near an NFL stadium hosting a playoff game, you might consider going to the area on game day and handing out packs of commons. You're sure to come back with some great stories and you just might bring a few young collectors into the hobby as a result!

I usually bust to sell hits... so these are whats left over from the past 2-3 years... I'm about 90% done and it looks like its going to be around 800-1000 per team. What I figured I would do was set a price for the team lot and then as needed give people specifics on a player or two. I don't mind getting a count on Le'Veon Bell cards if it helps someone take the Steelers but I don't want to have to do an entire recap of all cards...

I figured an average costs would be .08 cents per card. On some teams I'll lose a little and on some I'll make a little more. My hope is that LCS's or guys that do shows buy their local teams and we both can win!
