Talking Sketch Pull, Commission, or Buy of the Year Thread

The year is almost up, so let's see your one favorite sketch card pickup this year, whether you pulled it, bought it, or commissioned it.

Like I'm sure it will be for everyone, it was tough for me to choose just one . I settled on thinking about all of my favorites framed individually and up on a wall. Which one would my eye keep coming back to?

Really tough to narrow it down to one, but I'd have to go with this one. I picked up, pulled, and commissioned cards that I like more, but that I was able to add this card to my collection made me the happiest. Just as happy as this Mike Vasquez Poo-Eating Fly!

Too difficult. I can't do it. I have way to many commissions to pick a favorite from. I could maybe pick my 5 favorite

This is my favorite pull of the year. Probably also my biggest pull ever and the most valuable card in my collection. Who knows? Anyway... Iron Man 2 Jam sketch by Tony & Elaine Perna. Enjoy (again).

Easy one- The one artist I was hoping to pull in my case of Carnival, and I got it!

Now I'm hoping to pull one of her Portraits of Poe cards, and the Tell-Tale Heart and the Anabelle Lee ones she did are amazing.

Mine certainly has to be this Kezele Space AP I got commissioned, I had a great time this year hunting down sketches from the Space set. Had to pick between this which is my best commission or my Charles Hall Space Neptune which was my best pick up but here it is (again)

Gary Kezele Space AP of Jupiter Surface (or atmosphere as it has no land surface)

Gary Kezele impresses me so much with the variety he can produce...as someone myself who specializes in portraits, I often find that others who are good at portraits are ONLY good at portraits, and those who are great at other types of drawing really struggle with portraits. This dude draws awesome portraits and can come up with something like this? That's pretty badass.

This sketch I commissioned from Anthony Hochrein is my favourite sketch for the year (maybe ever!).

Well, it'd be impossible to pick a favorite commission. One that could be classed as a 'best buy' is too broad - was it by price? Listed incorrectly? So - I'll go with what I thought was my best pull from Star Wars to make it simple. Had too many awesome Marvel pulls so we're going with:

Id say either this one (picked up in when I got the case on a whim)

or this one (disney treasures 3-- i think there were only 144 total sketch cards)...

Both were pack pulled-- and both were sold

Wow! How much did you open to get that Disney sketch?

5 cases from blowout-- I bought at a good price just to get all the patch cel cards I needed... and (I am still trying to finish my damn patch cel set..), I thought I got everything in stock from them before their recent sale..

Between that sketch and the extra cels it pretty much worked out that I got all my stuff for free.. (well except the fact that I now have 5 cases worth of sets that I still need to get rid of.)

Death by Kat Laurange. She did it for me in The Great Sketch Card Swap 2012, but for delays I received it this year.

This is a tough one as I picked up a lot of quality stuff this year... I'm leaning towards this "reflection" Space! commission by the wizard (Gary Kezele)

That is excellent. That's one of the best things ever. How big is it?

Here is my Artist Proof of the year from Natasa Kourti

She was awesome to deal with! She is still a college student in Greece, so she told me up front that she is very busy, but she still sent me scans of her preliminary sketch (which was also awesome!) and knocked out the card very quickly... She is very talented!
