Default Slowdown in Ebay Authenticity Guarantee Processing?

Anyone else notice a slowdown in them authenticating items? I have 4 cards that shows that they received them on 9/11/2025, but still no word on them being authenticated.

Usually, they authenticate next business day or same day in some cases.

Anyone else waiting for them to authenticate their cards (buying/selling)?

Not only slower but the authenticators standards have gotten so much more strict over the last 2-3 months. As a buyer it feels like 1 of every 3 or 4 items I buy that goes through the program end up giving me an oppurtunity to cancel the sale due to undisclosed damage. The majority of the time I feel the "damage" is very minor and the card is still near mint or better.

Good -- they're doing their job.

Yep. These middlemen have cost me quite a few lost sales over the past month due to issues that are minor. It's almost like they want to force us to grade all cards before selling on Ebay.

As a buyer that regularly purchases cards $500+ i actually like the "new and improved" AG program

They actually look for flaws now (even when the sellers list the cards a excellent to try and circumvent the AG rejection), send pics of their findings and give you the option to cancel (I have never canceled a purchase) but it's nice to have that option just in case the seller misses something

They don't want to force you to grade, they want sellers to accurately described what they're selling

Still no update. I wonder what those crooks are doing over there.

Edit: Just got authentication notice a few minutes ago.

Yes, they are horrible. Taking 4-5 business days from arrival at authenticator to leaving authenticator. Horrible horrible horrible

Go back to having PO boxes being excluded. PSA clearly can't handle volume

Still nothing today...wow, they need to hire/train more people! Yes, easier said than done!

Also, these are all graded cards, not raw. So, it's not that difficult to go through them at a pace...

Yes people need to clarify whether it's the process on RAW cards or graded cards, because they go through completely separate pathways and coasts of the United States now depending on which.

No they're not at all. As a seller I've had multiple instances of them saying "hey there's damage" - then they send a pic where you see nothing. I've had both buyers choose to still get the card, both had no idea what the "rounded corners" ebay authenticity was speaking of when they received cards.

It is incredibly frustrating as a seller. The fact Ebay Authenticity makes up damage on cards - Very literally - and also DAMAGES cards that are returned (has happened multiple times to me), is crazy. I don't know what the process is over there but someone is corrupt there.

Doesn't directly address the recent slowdown, but in a recent interview the CEO claimed eBay has never let a counterfeit get through.

definitely seen a slow down and certain graded cards have an Ebay funds hold, while others don't. not sure of the criteria. It can't be $$ amount because I had a $700 card not get its funds held and a $400 did.

Yup, "near mint or better" by definition means the card is at least PSA 7 quality. I have seen plenty of cards that would EASILY grade a PSA 7 (and most likely an 8+) give the buyer the option to cancel the sale due to "damage". They've taken the condition review aspect way too far in my opinion, if it doesn't have a significant enough condition issue that would bump it below a 7 it should pass.

I just bought a BGS graded card that sat at the eBay authentication center for almost 10 days before it was finally shipped off to me.

Yes, the last time I bought a graded card that had to go through the eBay Authenticity process, it used to take a day or two to get shipped to me.

It has definitely slowed down.

Taking forever for me, too. Bought one card on 9/2, delivered to authentication on 9/6. Not authenticated until 9/14, and then tracking to me provided on 9/15 but still not sent out. A second card going to the vault was delivered on 9/8 and authenticated on 9/9, which is super fast. But as of today, it hasn't moved and no tracking has been provided for shipment to the vault.

My prior stuff was like 10 days max from arrival at authentication to in my hands or its final destination.

Most definitely delayed.

I purchased a graded card that was still in the authenticated sleeve with sticker when I purchased it, and it’s still sitting there waiting to be authenticated.

Does an authenticated card really need to be authenticated twice if it is graded and the seal is still intact?

Yes, same here. Card was authenticated, FedEx tracking number given - now it's just sitting there in limbo.

They want sellers to be upfront with showing any unique damage with raw cards -- clear and detailed photos. Stating a grade in the listing shouldnt preclude a seller from doing this. Transparency is a good thing. It will help prevent buyers from returning cards.

Finally, 3 of the 4 cards pending have been authenticated! Took almost a week!

This really needs to be an optional program where the buyer gets to choose whether or not they want the card authenticated.

It's absolutely awful. I've also noticed the added scrutiny to the cards. Cards sitting for a week or more in authentication. Bought one card on September 3rd and still don't have it. They really need to get rid of this for graded cards or give client an opt out option.
