Default Are there better hits in damaged boxes?

Seems there is that theory going around.

People seem be buying beat up boxes intentionally and hitting big cards.

It’s a superstition that I admit to influence my box choice when offered a selection to choose from.

That’s just a wild rumor started by someone who had a lot of damaged boxes he needed to sell.

Superstition equaling a theory is kinda why things are like they currently are.

Not sure about damaged boxes, but damaged people definitely seem to be getting a lot of good hits.

A couple of weeks ago, I grabbed 20 Value/Fat packs of Series 2 Topps from my local Target. A buddy of mine opened a couple of the packs and he noted that some of them had [only way to describe them] clear plastic, adhesive tags...that were slapped over where the hanger-hole was ripped on the actual, pack! My initial thought was that someone blatantly/scumbag-edly...tore open the packs to try and take a peek, inside!? Maybe someone did (and missed, everything!), or perhaps it was just a pack-out blunder on the vendor's part...? Nevertheless, from those 20 damaged Value packs, I/we pulled a Rhett Lowder 1990 auto, a true image Bregman SP, a Duran HFA, and a Jackson Jobe K Zone!

If someone..."cheated", THEY SUCK AT IT! If no one did, the better!

Opening boxes = emotional damage
Damaged boxes = bigger emotional damage

If you’re debating between two blasters of the same product at Target, the one you put back had the better hits.

This is like the dopes that think they hit more on slot machines when their card isn't in the machine or there is some magical button the casino pushes to tighten up slot machines on busy days. These are the same people that suffer from TDS.

Damaging the box/case is how Fanatics marks which boxes are supposed to go to Backyard Breaks.

The type of damage => the type of hit within the product

I buy my blasters in great condition. My 3yo adds the luck by immediately throwing the boxes across the room.

Confirmation bias is a cognitive bias that describes the human tendency to favor information supporting existing beliefs or values. It is a type of shortcut the brain uses to process large amounts of daily information.

Hence hangers are bangers and other similar nonsense.
