Default Official Wyatt Langford Thread

Recently promoted to AAA and is crushing the minors in his 142 AB

Glad I got to watch him last year playing for the Gators. Will be an exciting 2024 for him!

It would make sense, given the history to hold the number two overall for the next year's flagship Bowman, for him to headline draft this year. Fanatics can probably water down that product 20% more than they were intending to if that's the case.

Trenton Thunder!!! Has gone from not being on anyone’s radar to AAA in just 4 years. Couldn’t happen to a better kid. Rangers lucked into a superstar in the making.

He is going to AAA mostly due to the AA season ending. I would not be surprised if he starts 2024 in AA.

Langford and Jenkins have the highest upside of the 2023 drafted players. I see Wyatt's ceiling as a less athletic Trout.

Not a bad week to close out AA…

… .500/.593/1.045 (11-for-22) 4 R, 4 HR, 6 RBIs, 5 BB, 6 SO, 1 SB, 1 CS

Can’t wait to see how this week goes starting tonight!

Glad I got to see him during his very brief time at hi a. Definitely don’t anticipate being able to afford a bowman chrome auto, so it was nice to get these.

I haven’t seen Crews in person, but Langford was as physical a MiLB player as I’ve seen. Wouldn’t shock me if he has a solid 10 year run hovering around 275 with 30-35 bombs per year. Probably not an ideal CF (and they have Carter or Leody for that anyway).

I would also assume he’d start 2024 in AA, but if he mashes toward the end of his time in AAA, son knows. Rangers haven’t been shy about aggressive assignments.

Definitely not as fast as peak Trout. Langford has above average baseball speed, but prime Trout probably faster than all but a few players. Langford played fullback on his high school football team.

This shouldn’t be viewed as a negative on his athleticism. The FB Dive was the play that Trenton ran the most during his short time playing football. Also worth Mentioning is that the kid that played QB was the Grandson of the longtime Football/Baseball coach. He had the talent to play QB but that’s just how things work in small towns sometimes. He was definitely a late bloomer but the talent was already showing early in HS. Work ethic far exceeded anyone else around him.

Looking forward to seeing him in Frisco next year. May be just part of the year like Carter this year. But still looking forward to it. If nothing else just to get his auto to add to my Rangers IP auto PC.

Wasn't he the starting LB on Trenton as an 8th grader? Or was it as a freshman?
