I’ve been big on Hunter since SI did a profile on him right before he was drafted by the Reds. He came off like a great kid with a good head on his shoulders. Been a fan ever since.

I agree. Just listening to his interviews after games you can tell what a mature and classy man he is.

Totally agree...he's an outstanding pitcher but an even better human. Love his attitude and nice to see him turning into the ace we hoped he was.

Obviously a ton can happen to derail along the way but Im getting some early career JV and Mad Max vibes from this guy right now. Took a minute to harness and command but this feels like a guy you just hand the ball to, get outta the way and know he's gonna give you 6-7+ and a great chance to win for the next 10 years.

Couldn't agree with this more. Seeing HG pitch last year totally reminded of watching Verlander pitch in his first couple of years.

Almost out of my USA stuff, but dudes been dealing. I wasnt a Fan when he was pre draft seemed too arrogant, but since his debut I havent seen anything negative about his attitude.

Anyone else get in on some of the HG collection that sold on EBay last night? It was probably the best collection I’ve ever seen sold all at once for a player I collect.

I’m glad I didn’t know about it, otherwise I might’ve broken my vow to collecting celibacy.

I just checked it out, and yeah, that was a nice collection that was just offloaded. One thing that stuck out… I think I was as dialed in to Greene rookies as anyone. But somehow I completely missed this Topps Chrome SP photo variation?! Was this a late release, or a redemption? I feel like I should’ve known about it before, but I’m just now seeing it for the first time.

It looks like it may be the 2022 Topps Chrome Sonic Image Variation (1:6,399 packs).

Edit: that's what it is, per Cardboard Connection, "CMP code on the back ends #477."

At least for now. I rode such a high on the Acuna/Soto/Vlad/Gleyber wave (and a little Tatis), that it really warped my sense of collecting. I realized I was trying to recreate those moments. I guess I kinda lost my collecting identity.
