Default 2016 Star Wars High Tek By The Numbers

I have been eagerly tracking all of the 1/1s from this set for years. There are 895 1/1 cards in total. I have scoured all known eBay, FB group, BO sales, and the web in general. I have spent countless hours watching break videos. Currently, I have set eyes on 544/895 cards. Which leaves 351 1/1s whereabouts unknown online. There was a time when eBay removed their API in 2017ish where there were some auction results I could not confirm with a photo. I could really kick myself for not screen capping every card I saw for a visual DB.

This is where I am now. By my count 1/1s were slightly better than 1 every 2 cases, which puts it near 760 cases to get through the remaining cards. The web has been drained of all known cases. There are none left. There are boxes, but a box guarantees nothing, at least a case is ~50% chance. Could it be possible that many cases were opened in private? Only 1517 cases according to the odds of cards. So nearly half of all cases opened in private? That seems extreme. I'm sure a good percentage of cases were broken up into box sales, but that would leave a huge amount of boxes out there for sale, which doesn't seem to be the case either.

I would love to hear what you guys think about this. Where have all the proofs gone?

There are a lot of black hole collectors, but especially there are a lot of folks who just break offline. Those cards never touch the internet.

Good luck in your quest

In just over a year my tracker went up from 515/895 to 536/895. So new cards are still appearing on the web but a slow trickle at best. I have started following some overseas sites, but in 5 years its easy to see maybe most of the 359 missing cards could have been sold on sites that us buyers don't check often. I still think there are a bunch out there still in boxes.

Where is your checklist posted of the 1/1’s that you have already tracked?

I opened one case back in the day and pulled the Kanan Jarrus black diffractor which I don't believe I have ever posted about anywhere.

My list shows cyan, magenta and yellow proofs, and yellow auto proof are all I've seen out there.

581/895, been a few years, is a slow pace, but more than I thought we'd get by now, almost 65% seen/found

Do you track autos because I might have a 1/1 auto from that.

EDIT: Nevermind it is 2017 Anthony Daniels 1/1 C-3PO...
