Default Exchange entire collection for a single card valued equally or higher?

Would you do it? Please answer in the poll!

Sounds like something the OSB would say.

Edit: did you enjoy the victory of RED over GREEN yesterday?

No

A - I’m rich so I’d just buy what I want
B - What’s the point of owning one card? Will you never buy another card again? Or would you just start back up? So you’re just going to keep spending to build it all back up…

It’s fine. I’m not mad if someone wants to go that route I simply don’t see the point. It’s not a collection anymore. It’s one card

I like to have a collection or what are we even doing?

I don’t need one card worth a million bucks. I want to have the best collection of cards I can

Thanks for responding! It's an interesting question.

I won’t even argue that

I can see both sides

I just don’t see the point of collecting cards if one card would be enough… and if it isn’t? You’re going to get back into it

That’s all

Quality of quantity. I get it

I just happen to like collecting a bunch of stuff… obviously

Hard no. There isn’t one single card that I’m so excited about anyway. It would take many years to reproduce what I’ve put together, so there’s no comparing the value of master sets to a single card. No one would ever account for decades of labor in a trade.

Basically this

Also depends on what your collection is. That’s kind of a huge deal

Would I trade 10,000 one dollar cards for 1 ten thousand dollar card? Yes

Would I liquidate $250,000 of my collection for a Bird/Magic PSA 10 (currently the card I want… making up a number these days) I would not

Because I’d want all those cards back

Kicking the can down the road. I just need to figure out how to save the $250,000

Easy to say until it’s presented to me I suppose but that’s how I currently respond

I use flipping to buy the cards I ultimately want to be long term holds. Flipped my way to a Jordan RC, flipped stuff to get a Willie Mays auto, flipping stuff now to buy a Gretzky RC. I have small stuff I’ll never sell like my Nick Ciuffo PC, but I only need the really low numbered stuff at this point so it’s basically a lost PC.

Personally, I like Baseball, Football & Basketball, so there is no way I would want just one card.

No, I would not.

I derive significantly more joy from multiple PC cards than a single one.

that would be my way of thinking too. get rid of all of the excess inventory in one move and then sell the big time card to one person and be out fast and smoothly

Yes

Unless you're ASU #rich, not doing so would be failing a sunk cost fallacy test
