Default What's your favorite modern day release?

Just wondering what everyone's favorite modern day releases are?

I am guessing Contenders, Prizm etc will top the list.

I like both, but also like National Treasures and Obsidian a lot. Also Impeccable

I am old school, i love Donruss but really love the optic. I would love for tops to lease it for football. That is mostly all i buy retail. Maybe some mosaic time to time.

I like Elite, especially since they have started doing the throwback die-cut inserts. I will likely be the only person to say this, but I also like Score as well. Both have rookies in college uniforms, which is the primary focus of my PC, and I just appreciate the clean, simple understated feel of them.

I used to be a huge fan of Elite, but they have gone downhill the past few years. Ditto Prizm (especially at their price point).

Dollar for dollar, I have found Score gives great autos. But ultimately I am a loyal member of the Brotherhood of BUC - especially BUC Sapphire.

Optic because they remind me of Topps chrome and you can get on card autos.

Obsidian. The cards are really clean and beautiful in-hand. I like the simple layout, simple design.

Yeah I got my first two cards and I agree they are solid. Don’t think there’s a base rookie set with parallels though right? I like the Vick/Penix inserts for 2024.

Optic has some nice parallels and a good clean looking card

I think Elite is under appreciated

If you work in a dinosaur wing at the local museum, these cards must be all the rage

I almost bought a case of those dinosaur cards, it is so strange and different.

Mr. Blowout will you drop the price down under $1000? I'll order it from you.

I feel like Panini changed the configuration this year but the Rcs from Years past I thought were really nice, same with the parallels.

Impeccable and Obsidian are great for singles. I don't buy any packs nowadays.

It was Select before they started making retail to water it down. Impeccable and One are probably the only releases I like the look of consistently but I wouldn't buy a box even if they were 1/3 the price.

I can only afford prizm draft picks, so that one. I did pull an arch silver auto and a Marvin Harrison jr tOSU on campus.

Yeah I wanted base and parallels but it was only autos, inserts and jersey cards. So I went with the Vick/Penix red /75 to start. Looks very nice

For me, I much prefer actual photos on the cards. So something like Donruss/Optic. The stuff like Contenders, Elite, Obsidian, Mosiac, Certified, Select. These all just have the player super imposed with a bunch of design elements and colors in the background. It all just makes your eyes bleed. Those and I can do away with all the cartoon, color blast stuff that seems to be the rage now.

I am ok with the super imposed image if you are doing cards with patches. You want the patch and autos to lead the design on those cards.
