Default 2024 HHN what's the deal???

Spent more time than I should have looking back at the timing of this release and it is unusually late to still not have heard anything. Bowmans Best getting out ahead of HHN is very odd.

I think between the 1975 design, strong class not in the regular Heritage and possible mini release this should be a no brainer, but its crickets.

I hoped to be made to look foolish with an announcement tomorrow.

I wouldn’t be worried unless we get through December without a preorder at the least.

They may be looking at recent years where HHN was absolutely abysmal and sales reflect it. Cutting the logo RCs off in mid-May to "save" them for base Topps the next year cannibalizes late-season products like HHN. 2021 and 2023 HHN boxes are just about the only Topps products in recent years selling far under retail price and it's surely due to the lack of that year's key logo rookies. But since they have to plan these sets months in advance, they also may not have anticipated this year's rookie class all coming up so early and being eligible for the logo. Like back in 2001 when Heritage was such a huge hit but they never made cards for Ichiro, who no one was sure about, or Pujols, who most people had never heard of before he crushed from day one.

Thematically, it makes sense to not have HHN this year, sad as it is to say. They only had the one series and they didn't make any late-season updates like in 1974 or 1976. So maybe just one and done this year.

Skenes, Yamamoto and The Jackson 3 makes sense to have HHN
Plus a mini series with these guys

They’ll make it for sure.

But HHN is not a money maker for Topps and it is not a breaker favorite. I hope not but I could see the ax for this one.

The simplest answer is usually the correct one....i.e. Fanatics is being managed by a bunch of idiots who have no idea how to manage a manufacturing process and get products out the door on time.

HHN is not the only product that is way behind schedule....there's been not a peep about Archives, Flashback Finest, Brooklyn, or RIP yet, all of which are usually fall releases.

At this rate, there are going to be more 2024 products released in 2025 than in 2024......

I could see it in the future but not this year. 1975 design plus this checklist will be loaded with big rookies and we’ll get Yount autos.

Well there is certainly no shortage of super boring non-Rookies they could include in it, after they made 25% of the checklist Rookies on the first go, leaving just 325-ish MLB regulars in the release.

For me, given how phoned in 24 Heritage was with more composition errors than most any set in the 21st century, and the abysmal print quality of the backs of the cards, I no longer really care if they do HHN or not.

I'm definitely sure it will come out, but it's losing its relevance being so far after the season and every other release with the Jacksons, Skenes, etc. If Best is out ahead of it and who knows what other Chrome variation they can cook up it will be tough to stick with it.

I felt the same with 2023 Stadium Club. I liked the cards and the class well enough but it was so late I never even considered grabbing any. After 2 cases of regular Heritage its trending that was for HHN.

110 percent they make it

I did think it would be released or announced by now

But they will do both versions. I guarantee it

I guess January ?

It’s coming. They used Yount autos in the ads for regular 2024 Heritage. He wasn’t in there. More likely we’ll see him in HHN.

I'm assuming it is coming until it stops selling. Frankly, I don't understand how Topps sells through every year, but they seem to do so. Heritage and HHN have become the only products in the hobby one can predictably pick up cheaper in sealed wax form six months to a year after release and it's bonkers to me that Topps isn't trying to fix that frantically. Eventually, I could see Heritage and HHN getting a major revamp, but I can't see them axing either despite the product being stuck in a hobby's no-man's land.

I've felt HHN should always have been sold as boxed set like Topps Update used to be. Maybe 100-150 cards all XRC's and players who actually changed teams.

2012, 2013, and 2014.

Huge rookies in those too…Bryce Harper, Nolan Arrenado, Jose Ramirez, Mookie Betts.

Release it in 2025 and delay 1976 till 2026. That way Heritage can finally be 50 year difference in releases.
