Default Completed my first vintage player run - Hank Aaron

Just got the final piece of my very first vintage player run in the mail today, nearly two years from the day I started it. Fittingly it was his last playing days card, the 1976.

One of my favorites in this run is also the lowest grade - the badly miscut 1967 that includes just enough of the card beneath in in the sheet that you can make out Bob Gibson's name:

Now that I'm done with this run, I can get to work finishing the Clemente run that I'm already six cards into.

That is cooler than any modern shiny, color, parallel rainbow.

If you like to complete projects, vintage is the way. No 1/1's to worry about and on to the next player!

Thanks for the kind comments all.

Yeah, vintage is pretty fun. I still love modern but more and more I've been dipping into both pre-war and post-war vintage lately.

My other vintage projects if anyone is curious:

T206 HOF run (minus Plank and Wagner because I'm not rich) - missing 22
1933 Goudey HOF run (minus Lajoie) - missing 42 (just started)
Jackie Robinson run - Missing 52T, 49B and 48L

Qubits that’s fantastic! I too am working on an Aaron run. And coincidentally enough one of my close buddies is working on a Clemente run! Haha Great minds!

Great job, thanks for sharing, that 1970 has always intrigued me, not quite sure why.

Phenomenal collection, well done on completing the run!

What's next, upgrade each copy's grade and/or work to get them all with the same TPG?

I've never cared about what TPG slabbed the card to be honest but I do actively avoid BVG for vintage. Heck, my Clemente run already has two cards slabbed by CGC!

I won't be upgrading any of these until I finish my other vintage projects and given the costs associated with those that'll might not happen until 2030.

This is absolutely great! Congratulations!

I need to do the same with Mickey Mantle. I’m missing everything from 1961 to 1969.

Did you go for all of them graded or just happened to work out that way?

I went for them all graded. I very rarely buy raw vintage.
