Default Does KD remain an elite scorer next 5-6 years?

If so, he'll pass MJ and then Kobe for #4 on the scoring list.

Embiid prizms seems like a better buy atm.

Just something I was pondering last night while crocheting.

100%. I think he will finish 4th all time in scoring if he keeps this up.

I think that's the only question. How many games he plays.

He's scoring the most per game since he was 25. But he'll never lead the league in minutes again like he did at that age.

Also, he's 10,000 pts behind Kobe. Since the beginning of the 2014 season until now, he's scored 8,600 points.

That means by the time this 7th year in that timeline is through, he will have scored less than 10,000 points. Of course, in that mix was an entire season he missed in 2019, and 2/3 a season he missed in 2014.

It's all going to depend on his ability to avoid another major injury. So far this year, he's played 19 of 30 games. Although, this year is likely far from typical for a number of reasons.

Wonder where that takes his prices, MVP, 2 rings plus whatever he wins in NYC, 2 Finals MVPs, 10+ ASGs and All-NBA teams.

2 of the 3 guys ahead of him would have multiple MVPs and rings, alltime top 5 players, and the other would be Malone who is not.

[not saying KD would be a top 5 alltime but probably top 10 by that point, barring injury].

Moreso than his rank in scoring, I think what will dictate his place is if he can win another title, this time away from Golden State.

It's hard to put him above Kobe with his 5 titles, and 2 without Shaq, if he's only at 2.

Yep, he needs 400 games at 25ppg, fewer at more. Even at 60-65 games a year that's doable. Since he's scoring 29ppg now, 6 years of ~60 plus the remainder of this year gets you there which allows for minor injuries and rest.

Hell, at age 40 he might be playing 12-15 minutes a game sniping 12ppg from the corners.

I doubt he'll tear another Achillies followed by Covid, but obviously injuries are the risk here and to any other player in their 30s.

For his prices, he won’t ever reach Lebron/Kobe/Mj prices, just because of what he did by going to Golden State. I really think that is going to hold him back from being viewed like the above players.

I also am not sure if Kd would be playing until he is 40. I could see him playing until 37-38 and then calling it quits. Or at most play until he passes Kobe.

If health holds, he’ll still be a 25+ PPG player.

Agree with others. If healthy, should be able to do it.

He just recovered from a brutal injury and not playing for over a year. He will be much healthier next season. The chances are pretty good for him ending up at the top 5 scoring of all time.

If he wins 2 titles in NYC, I could see his prices reaching Kobe's. Not saying that will happen by any means.

Besides, Lebron did the same thing going to Miami, back to CLE and then LA to win titles. Many collectors obviously don't care about joining/forming a superteam. They just care about rings. All those 3 above have many more rings than Durant, so they get the top values as they should.

If he gets to #4 or higher, I think he'll go down as the best scorer of alltime, at least since the early Wilt days. We've never seen a guy score as efficiently at all 3 levels like Durant for that long, if it happens.

If Durant is 100% healthy when the playoffs started, and you asked me who would I pick among current players if my life depended on them scoring 2+ points in one try, he'd be my pick hands-down.

Lol at what he did by going to Golden State comment. Like Lebron never ran away from Cleveland to form a super team? Bronsexuals always seem to overlook this fact.

Durant can 1000% achieve this, health pending and if he has the desire to play that long. Shooting over anyone and having a high release point will help as he ages

Hey look, another insecure Aussie Lebron hater. What’s in the water down there?
