Default Could you win a point off Serena Williams?

It was posed about 5 years ago, curious what the Blowout Commentariat thinks. Do you think if you were playing your very best tennis, you could win a point off Serena Williams?

Eventually she'd have to hit enough balls into the net, right?

Absolutely not. Tennis is not like basketball. I think I could be lucky enough to score on an nba player, but no way I would be able to win a point on Serena.

Winning a point would involve me returning her serve or returning one of her shots. I played tennis in HS, and there is absolutely no shot I would be able to get a point.

2-3 star tennis recruits are insane, imagine playing against an all timer!

A top division 1 college player would beat her as she’s said previously. Its a different game.

Only if she stroked out in the middle of her backhand against my 1st serve. Other than that no, I’d have 0 chance returning anything she’d hit to me

Nope. I’d be happy to just return serve once.

Of course. Just need a double fault on her serve. That's the only way though

That ball would be past me before I could ever see it.

Definitely. I serve hard enough, eventually, I'll hit a corner and if I'm charging behind every serve, I'll get one overhead before I give up.

I used to play recreationally in high school and I played a girl I was friends with who was on the school team and had years of training/lessons.

Humbling.

And that was a girl from my high school.

Serena Williams would embarrass me.

Unless you’re 6’5+ there’s also no chance of you scoring a point on an NBA player

I wouldn’t say no chance based on size. Their only real chance is chucking one up and getting lucky before they close out.
