Default If Panini no longer has the MLBPA license, *CAN* they fulfill old redemptions?

I have one outstanding with them - a 2022 card of Manny Machado. What I don't understand is how this could even be resolved. Is he even allowed to sign for them via the old agreement somehow? It does appear these cards will be sticker autos, so that's in my favor... maybe?

What would you do if you were me?

Any insights or advice welcome. Jokes and sarcasm are also welcome.

My guess is that you'll end up with a replacement but not sure anybody can give you a concrete answer

I had a bunch of redemptions and panini sent me a white sparkle basketball pack for each. They sold for about $40-$50 each. They sent these to me about 4 months ago.I don’t know what they are doing now. None of my redemptions were high profile in demand players.

The latest Beckett football magazine I looked at had two Panini redemptions in the top 20 "hot list." That's crazy.

Beckett can speak in virtual card all they want.

The problem is when it’s YOUR redemption, lol.

Without seeing the actual text of the licensing agreement - which none of us have - we can't know.

If the cards are eventually returned, I am sure they are allowed to distribute them. Similar thing happened when Panini lost their NHL licence at the end of the 2013-14 season, and some cards eventually made it's way into collector's hands years later via redemption. Most now are being filled with replacements though. Their most recent stint of replacements was this year, almost ten years after they lost the licence.

We are on the same boat I have a chronicles /25 auto waiting since 21. Your card is 1/1 and on card. I don’t think we ever see our cards ever. Maybe we get a good replacement?

Okay, update. I called in. They said I was eligible for something they call a "white box" option or something because it's a 1/1. I got to name some of my favorite players and apparently they are going to try to match me based on that. It sounds too good to be true, so I will go into this with my only expectation being that I'll get nothing. Ever.

I gave them this list:
Gunnar
Adley
Bryce
Judge
Griffey
Julio
Rickey
Nolan Ryan

Wish me luck LOL

white box cards are "1/1" not 1/1.....what i mean by that is they are leftover / unused / extra stock of previously released cards. the original cards were numbered and put in packs, these are unnumbered stickered 1/1 cards.

Should I change to the other option which was them sending me "a similarly valued card?"

no way to answer that unfortunately. some people like and go after the white box cards, others detest them. it is a blind game at this point. who knows what they will consider "a similarly valued card" and it would all depend on who you hit in the white box.

decision only you can make

This post should be sent to anybody who posts "what is the value of this white box card" then gets upset when people tell them it is less than they thought

I'd pay more for the #/25 than the "1/1"
