Default Ja Morant

Anybody else jumping on Morant rookies? I was looking at both zion and ja but with zion's bum knee i might weigh my collection more towards ja. He still has some growing to do and might not bust out this year in the points department but he's going to make a lot of highlight reel players. Just made one a minute ago with a behind the back pass.

even with zions knee issues i still think morant will be the better player, call me crazy.
what that being said i will be buying morant rookies when he actually has rookie cards for sale there are none yet.

I think he could be really good a la Trae Young or meh like DSJ. He's not as good of a shooter as Young but he's got DSJ's athleticism. Problem is he's a bit undersized, so I worry a bit about that early on if his shots aren't falling. Crafty in the paint though, and a really good distributor. Not sure if that's enough of a combination for long term hobby sustenance though.

^ Yeah he needs to strengthen up and fill out a little bit more before he has the potential to really take off.

He plays smart though and gives good effort.

RJ's beasting tonight, ironically lol.

Ja's fun to watch though, can't lie. Grizz could be fairly good in a few years. Still way too young right now.

Yeah I just don't see him light the league on fire as a rookie like a lot of people are thinking. I think outside of Zion, the rest of the rookies from this draft are guys that will need to develop more before they are actually ready to produce. Ja will be one of the better players from it though, no doubt.

We've been spoiled by the past two draft classes with guys who started and impacted their team from day one.

I agree. Majority are 1-3 year projects. RJ will probably fill the stat sheet just because of his surrounding cast...they're going to let him do whatever he wants like Westbrook (on probably 40% shooting and an ungodly amount of TO's).

Ja looks like the second coming of D.Wade to me. He has got to develop a knock down jump shot though.

Wade was a thick-built 2-guard though... I see more of a mini-Penny Hardaway type. Thin with quick-twitch lean muscle and a pass-first PG but one who can score in a variety of ways.

Even Trae Young isn't as good a shooter as people think he is.

He is Trae with subtracted range and added athleticism.

Otherwise, their size and play style are virtually identical.

Did anyone think Kansas City would be a great place for one of the biggest hobby studs in any sport?
