19-20 Mosaic Rainbow Project

A buddy of mine and I were talking about all the crazy parallels that panini has been making and I was joking how hard it would be to make a rainbow. I decided to give it a shot with a player from my favorite team, not a star or even a role player, let’s face it a checklist filler Dwight Powell…it’s been almost a year and here is where I’m at and what I’m missing:

There are a few of the missing pieces floating around ebay being held hostage by ridiculous $ asks. Anyone else complete one of these Mosaic rainbows?

I pick up Richaun Holmes 19-20 Mosaic cards when I get a chance because it's his only cards from his first year as a King. Don't have anything low numbered though as it's kind of just a side thing to do for fun. You've definitely done well picking up a lot of those including some very low numbered ones like the FOTL swirls, black gold, snake skins, etc.

Really cool way you've embedded them all into your post btw.

Yeah it’s a tough one. I made a gif but I had to compress it and that made some of it look wonky but thanks!

Yeah, I know the struggle. I’m at 32/35 cards for the rainbow for Jae Crowder from 19-20 Mosaic. Panini has gone overboard with the parallels. It’s not fun anymore.

I think mosaic parallels look great. Just even getting close is pretty cool. Especially the 19-20 year with Kobe pack ones ? How many are just in those ? And all supper low
Numbered. Congrats to anyone even getting close on rainbows and huge props for getting them all

Anybody know if 19-20 mosaic complete rainbow has been done? With all 1/1 damn near impossible. I know I’ve seen 18-19 prizm basketball Andre Drummond in issue of BCF magazine. If anyone does 19-20 mosaic definitely deserve a article in the magazine !!

Yup, they have sucked the life out of rainbow chasing with 100 parallels. My new goal is all cards less the 1/1’s. I’m not overpaying for a 1/1.

I mainly collect nba…but only time I did a mosaic rainbow chase was with Stef Diggs. Was fun and plan to start on an nba player soon.

There are 3 Kobe snakeskin parallels /24, /20, /8

I've been working on the Rui #231 & #275 rainbows for a while, but pretty much accepted at this point that I'll never complete them because of the 1/1s.

Will probably keep the Snakeskins and the Golds, and get rid of everything else now.

I’m 35/38 for Rozier on 2018-19 Prizm. Missing only the two 1/1 and the White Sparkle.

It’s something I would do once but not again. Parallels seem so much less valuable when there are a seemingly infinite amount of them.

Fast break and tmall variations really sucked the life out of player collecting.

Mosaic looks so good for rainbows. With design of the card each parallel colors really pop on them!! I do like the many combos they use. Sure it’s tough but some of them just really pop !!

I’ve come across couple YouTube videos were the collectors are very close at finishing them.
Both are football 2020 Jody Nelson by his super collector packers87.
Another guy has 29-32 off Jim Kelly from 2020 mosaic. His YouTube handle is gangstacc very cool seeing the videos of them. The 2021 sets will be even tougher with honeycomb addition

Yeah I'm actually working on the 21 Mosaic FB Jaelon Darden (TB RC WR). I was able to snag the honeycomb and peacock pretty early on.

A completed 2017 prizm Deshaun Watson rookie rainbow is up for auction on PWCC. Makes you wonder if premium will be paid for rainbow intact.
