Default Which QB had the worst Super Bowl performance all time?

Yes I know my falcons sucked it up. But I’m talking about worst QB performance and not the team.

Kerry Collins was pretty awful. Rich Gannon set some records like he was Jameis Winston. John Elway had a really bad one too. Let’s leave out guys that got benched early too.

Who do you think was the worst?

In terms of a total change from how he was that season, I think Gannon would be hard to top.

I just mean in the big game. Doesn’t matter to me how someone performed in other games that year. Just the one that mattered.

I know not the worst, but Marino's only trip was a tough loss with only one TD pass and two interceptions.

That's who came to mind for me too. In Super Bowl L both Newton and Manning put up some bad stats.... Neither broke 60.0 for Rating. But Big Ben's first go resulted in a 9/21, 123 yards, 2 ints, 1 sack, and a putrid 22.6 rating.

I have Peyton Manning as the GOAT (unpopular opinion, I know), however, his SB 50 performance was the worst I've ever seen in my life. Not just him - anyone. I still can't believe they won that game with Manning doing this:

13/23
141 yds
0 TD's
1 INT
2 fumbles/1 lost

I'm not even sure that stat line tells the whole story. I actually think it was worse than it looks.

Was going to say Tony Eason; Super Bowl 20, 0-6 passing then was benched.

Denver 1/14 on 3rd down that game! Only team to ever win a Super Bowl w/ less than 200 total yards(Super Bowl teams w/ less than 200 were then 0-7)

Yeah really helps when your defense gets 4 turnovers, one for a score and 7 sacks. Plus Carolina having 12 penalties for 102 yards.

Rex Grossman had 165 yards passing w/ 1 TD, 2 INT(one a pick 6) and two fumbles lost in the rain vs Indy. After Hester opened the game with that kickoff return TD for Chicago.

OMFG!! This is why SB rings are overweighted/overrated.

this is a tough one, just because you know some of these guys went up against legendary defenses or had a bad game, but had good moments, like Gannon's bombs to Porter and Jerry Rice, or Garoppolo playing well through 3 quarters, or Mahomes having no offensive line and running like a madman against Tampa, or Eason getting benched way too early

as far as complete games go, from Super Bowls i've watched, i'll go with Jim Kelly in Super Bowl 26 against the Washington Redskins.

he finished 28 for 58 for 275 yards, 2 touchdowns (in garbage time when the Bills were down 37-10), and 4 interceptions and lost a fumble too.

i know Gannon threw 5 INTs with 3 pick sixes, but two of those INTs and two of those pick sixes happened in the last 1:30 or so, it was heave it time by then.

I've always said the Broncos won this game despite Peyton Manning! While he had a terrible game, Newton had an even worse game and there may have never been a more dominate defensive game in the Super Bowl than how Denver played that day.

You know you are the worst when you get pulled for a guy with more career punts than pass completions. Morton was pulled after the Cowboys dropped a potential pick 6 which would have been his 5th INT.
